In this day and age of social media it just don’t work anymore .

You can always see it from a mile away .

It’s always just annoying reading a title on a YouTube video or a Facebook title of something outrageous and you just know before clicking that it’s just another lame April fools joke .
There was a day when this was not the case but we are so programmed to April 1st now that it just don’t work anymore .

I haven’t been fooled by an April fools joke since at least 1997

The best one ever that I remember was in the early 90s Rush Limbaugh spent his entire 3 hr show pretending that he was switching to being a liberal . The call ins were hilarious.

Had Everyone fooled till the end of the show .
You could not pull something off like that these days

PTI on ESPN does the same lame joke every year. This time it was Coach K resigned before the Final Four. Then every athlete has to post a joke on Twitter. Julian Edelman returns to the Patriots. LeBron James shutting it down for year. What was stupid about that one is people thought he really was because he had an injury and the Lakers were almost out of the playoffs. He had reporters scrambling to verify the story. At least come up with something that is far fetched.
