Eleven years as a head coach with a 95&81 (.540) winning percentage. Five years made the playoffs with one SB victory.
C'mon guys, he's a very good coach. Should have made coach of the years for sitting down Keyshawn with half a year to go in 2004.
But...he's a terrible color man as is 90% of the NFL announcers. Typical loudmouth that likes to hear himself talk. The big weakness of the NFL are the rules that slow the game down and the abundance of loudmouth announcers that say the obvious.

Not true. During his 2000-2003 Raider campaign, he had the team ready to run through a brick wall for him. He earned the respect of league legends like Tim Brown and Jerry Rice almost immediately.

Alot of Buccaneer players were not sad to see him go.

Ummm,, You're in a Camp Solitude on this one. In a half a dozen games Gruden had added more in-depth football knowledge and insight to a telecast than any color commentator in history.

I agree, I'm usually very hard on announcers but I think Gruden is awesome. He provides quality, in depth analysis and does it without ever seeming too full of himself or saying things just to be cute or get attention. He's humorous at times but it's natural, never forced.

Phil simms is my favorite commentator. He really knows his stuff, better than colinsworth

Don't like Phil. PS is too PC. He's quick to jump on the bandwagon when somethin' good happens on a play .... somethin' like "he's as good an open field tackler as the best of them" ... but he doesn't have the balls to call out a bad play, or a missed tackle or a missed assignment that leads to a TD etc ...

Calls it as he sees it, he ain't.:103631605
