They arrived on August 1st in Frankfurt and had some training sessions here in Germany. The flight from Jacksonville to Cologne takes only 7 hours (they were 3 hours late). So that is no excuse for them. Futhermore the local time here is EDT +6 hours. Therefore they should not have had any problems.

Andynbg, First I think its longer than 7 hour from Florida to Germany. But all in all its still adds up to over 10 hours of flight, transfer time. Then they get there they have practice, media BS and they showed on TV how they were doing things for the troops in Germany, (good gesture). Tired, I still think so. My experience is jet lag will kick your ass. In Athens no excuses we will see what happens.
Ok. IMO I had more problems with the jet lag when i flew to the States than coming back to Germany. Frankfurt - Miami for example 8 hours 30 minutes (that is pretty good. when i flew from Frankfurt to Miami I had to go via Washington and it took me 16 hours). I looked that up.
btw maybe they got a cheap flight (you can fly for 99 euro from germany to the usa and maybe then it took longer
