But today if these numbers are not a fluke we are finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel .
Deaths were way down yesterday along with cases.
And today’s first update only had 5 deaths for the USA.

We are just now getting into the window where we should see some impact from the social distancing .
If it takes 10 to 15 days for someone to die from covid-19 from the time of getting the virus we are just now getting into that window as the shutdown began 12 days ago.

Today will be a huge day .

a lot is riding on this .

This could also be the beginning signs that warmer weather plays a role in slowing this down .

New Orleans had 3 all time high temps last week and got up to almost 90 degrees .

The rate of infection is slowing down in New Orleans .

Lets hope we getting close to the downside of this mess .

And if the above comes to pass we have a whole new set of questions to ask .

If the last 2 days are to be believed then that means we are doing much better then Spain and Italy which did not have the ability to social distance the we we did .

So if things turn around does this mean we should green light things or is this just proof that social distancing measures worked and we need to stay the course for a while .

This is going to be a tough question to answer .

We were told that in 2 weeks that we are expecting its peak.

I am reading we could have 200k-300k deaths.

I am in south Florida where the cases have been high.

I am hoping these are just scare tactics to make us stay inside. It’s pretty freaky

trying to be optimist here

Why the personal attack, sir? I want this situation over as much as anyone. All I've done is post facts, and sometimes these are facts that people don't want to hear but they are facts nonetheless.

Ad hominum attacks on posters, slurs on other ethnic groups and fake or misleading medical cures are unhelpful.

From the Economist this morning

Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, warned that between 100,000 and 200,000 Americans could die of covid-19. Shortly after, President Donald Trump abandoned his goal of reopening the economy by Easter, April 12th, asking Americans to continue practising social distancing until at least April 30th. Mr Fauci praised the decision as “wise and prudent”.

Trump isn't the one that shut down the economy... took appropriate measures that we needed to do.. the States themselves have ran with this.. Especially liberal led states

DT is the one that denied there was a problem until two weeks ago, valuable time that could have minimized the shutdown, lessened the infections and reduced the deaths.

200,000 corpses on the white house lawn, with DT giving one of his word salad news conferences in the middle of it, now there's an image

Funny, that you haven't mentioned the "valuable time that could have minimized the shutdown" that was caused by Nancy Pelosi, and the DemoScum leadership, who shut down
the Federal government for FUCKING MONTHS over a fake impeachment scam. Why haven't you mentioned that you fucking casper troll?

</header>Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for her accusations that President Donald Trump did not move fast enough to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Nancy Pelosi is accusing Trump of not responding fast enough to the Chinese coronavirus. This is the same person that fiddled around with a sham impeachment* that wasted valuable time…” she tweeted.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn
@MarshaBlackburn

Nancy Pelosi is accusing Trump of not responding fast enough to the Chinese coronavirus.

This is the same person that fiddled around with a sham impeachment* that wasted valuable time...

You’re not fooling anyone, Nancy.

</twitter-widget>Pelosi said Sunday on CNN about Trump: “His denial at the beginning was deadly. His delaying of getting equipment … to where it is needed is deadly,” Pelosi said, stressing that social distancing requirements should remain intact as states attempt to slow the rapid spread of the disease.”
As first reported by Breitbart News’s Joel Pollak, Pelosi’s move forward to impeach Trump came at the same time coronavirus first popped up in Wuhan, China, and began spreading around the world.
As Pollak reported, Chinese state media reported the first known death from an illness originating from a seafood market in Wuhan, China. Four days later, Pelosi held a vote to send articles of impeachment to the Senate, famously handing out commemorative pens to celebrate.
On January 21, the first person with coronavirus arrived in the United States from China. Two days later, House impeachment managers made their opening arguments for removing the president.
Her attack comes as poll numbers show that the percentage of Americans who approve of Trump and his handling of the coronavirus pandemic is rising and after she and House Democrats faced harsh criticism for proposing a coronavirus-response rescue package filled with pork for progressive Democrat priorities unrelated to coronavirus.

What attack? What slur on ethnic group? What fake or misleading cures?
Am I reading the wrong thread cause none of these took place in this thread.

Nice try though...

1. The states will be the one that controls all of this. That is the way the US runs. See gambling/marijuana laws. Some states will be open sooner than others. There is a potential issue with that, in that people in closed states will find their way to states that are open, potentially causing additional spread. Most laws exist because people are bad at self governing or doing what is best for anyone other than themselves.

2. I am still trying to get my brain around how someone can come up with 100-200K of deaths. I am not saying Fauci is wrong, but I would like to see how he comes up with those numbers. There is no plausible math indicator that seems reasonable to predict this. It's like me saying that the Cincinnati Bengals will win the Super Bowl. I can put some thoughts on why this could happen, and some may even make sense. However, the likelihood is very low.

Absolutely. He needs to be fired, as well as anyone in the government who allowed him to get all that power. Make America Great Again.

fire a guy for telling the truth while the POTUS lies, deflects, delays and minimizes the worst public health crisis in 100 years? Good plan

[FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]They cover their asses by saying "could" instead of "will" so if their predictions fall flat they're of the hook.

And of course the media takes them literally, no questions asked because it fits their agenda.

I'm not an educated man. Can you please let me know what this phrase means?
