WHEN SOMBODY GOES ON A LOSING STREAK... THOMPSON, PANTHER, ETC... THE THING IS IN THOMPSON CASE HE IS PICKING WAY TO MANY GAMES IN ALL SPORTS THE ODDS OF HIM WINNING IS WAY OUT OF REACH, HELL he is picking 4 in hockey, 3 in college ball then i see him in NBA link THERE IS 3 more. THIS GOES BACK TO MY THOUGHTS what are people trying to prove pick 1 or 2 in 1 sport you cant win on a reg. bases picking almost every game. ME .... I TRY TO WIN!!! On every post. Had a great bases season BUT towards the end of the year couldnt make the right pick. I WAS GUILTY OF THE SAME THING. SO THIS BASEBALL SEASON 2 or 3 AT THE MOST and i will take some days off CANT WIN EVERY EVERY DAY! It just doesent HAPPEN THAT WAY!

 

ANY PRO ( WHICH I AM NOT) BUT ANY PRO WILL SAY THE MORE PLAYS YOU FEEL ARE WORTHY TO PLAY THE BETTER....

A PRO GAMBLER WHICH IS WHAT JAKE IS TRYING TO BECOME, DOESN T HAVE A SET NUMBER OF PLAYS EACH DAY , IF HE SEE`S 20 GAMES THAT FIT HIS CRITERIA OR 1 THATS HOW MANY HE SHOULD PLAY...

THATS WHAT ANY PRO WILL SAY....

I THINK JAKE`S WHOLE PROBLEM MAY BE HE`S TRYING TO SELL PICKS NOW SO HE FEELS HE HAS TO COME UP WITH SEVERAL PLAYS....JAKE`S MISTAKE WAS TURING TOUT!

I agree with you Journey. I don't know Jake's personal situation but he cost himself a lot by turning tout too soon. He used to be widely respected around here but now most regulars are all over him. I can't believe the stuff these guys say down here about him. /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

He started charging right near the end of baseball season. It was almost over at the time? Weird timing to say the least. Had he done a better job marketing himself and put more thought into it he would have been way more succesful. Being a tout is more how you market yourself than what you actually pick. At least that's the impression I get.

 

Being a tout has nothing to with the plays I choose. I go with where I see value, whether it's with 1 game or 10 games. If I see the value I bet it and reccomend others do too. I understand what you are saying, but I never force plays. I just play what has value to me. Same way I did it when I posted the MLB year for free. Also Patrick, for the most part, the people dissing on me are mainly posters in the Rubber Room, and 90% of them are not regulars.

Good luck guys, I appreciate the concern, but I have to play what I think has value.

 

I think jake`s timing was horrible and I told him even back then....He may have felt he needed the money, But he did have a dynamite baseball season, he should have continued to post his picks and next spring broke out with the start of baseball !

And charged more money, now if he tanks with this lame attempt with his guarantee and low rates( i actually think his rates work against him!) he will have missed his chance to make a big splash!

if i was jake i would have waited til next baseball season....I wish him well though!

I'll be the first to admit waiting for the start of next year MLB would have been the best way to go about it, but it wasn't best for me financially.

 

I followed Jake in baseball the way he broke down games made sense , and i admitted I learned something...I think baseball may be the easiest to actually handicap using systems , with the money lines and finding value in dogs...the NFL is impossible to cap with a system IMO, more of playing odds and guessing who is due to lose...

college football you can find value, NFL there is no real value the lines are too tight...

if i had the discipline it would be baseball and college football and baskets AND THAT WOULD BE IT!

BUT sadly i don`t have the discipline needed! /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

My customers don't visit a website. I send them an email each morning with the picks. Website hasn't been updated in a month, true. It's a bitch to update. I'll try and get around to it.
