I have a sports question

For years I used the Greek as my opening line and tracked their line moves.

About 5 years ago I switched to Pinnacle

I am considering of switching again to Betonline, (BOL)

I have noticed they are early with opening lines and typically move before Pinny

Is it possible that BOL is sharper than Pinny? Do you think I should switch to tracking them

You ever consider going to vegas insider and tracking line movements there? they have a bunch of different books but none that i believe that you mentioned

In general, the "sharpest" lines will be wherever has the highest limits, lowest commission, and won't cut anyone off. For a lot of stuff, that has been pinnacle, but not everything. Most of their opening lines have low limits, a lot of their props have high vig, etc. And now that a lot of places in the US have legal betting, a lot of money is moving to American regulated books. For myself, I just spend enough time on it to get an understanding of each market and how each book moves. For some things I just use pinnacle. There are some things I value the pinnacle line on, others I use a combination of Pinnacle, Bookmaker, and some Las Vegas lines. If you use a combination of pinnacle, thegreek, and betonline (any two or three of them), it will likely give you market price at any time.

If pinnacle is willing to take $100,000 bets at -105, for a Monday Night Football game, it must be fair market value or they would not be able to survive. That doesn't have much meaning to me, because every where else is going to have very similar side, total, and money line. What pinnacle does better than anyone else, is use the game line to move their team totals, 1q, alternate line, etc. Las Vegas books will usually only move those lines on action. So I try to be the guy who moves them anytime there would be an arbitrage opportunity. In general, I want the smallest props, on the biggest market, that I can handicap just by using the betting odds. That is where pinnacle gives the most value.

For some stuff, like overnight college basketball totals, it may as well be throwing darts. For most things, using them along with one or two other places should suffice.

Tom - I like to track the overnight / or 1st move on a game vs my Power ratings.

I started to notice that Pinnacle was lagging behind in opening games but it looks like a software Issue with SI......SBR ODD has all the NBA lines posted but SI still is missing a few for Fridays games

My Challenge becomes because my data base is based on overnight and 1st moves when I introduce the BOL openers they are much different than Pinnacles which my skew my tracking....

For example Utah VS MILK BOL 6.5 down to 5 PINNY 5.5 now 6 So do I record that as a Down move or an up move LOL

OR OKC vs NYK BOL 4 down to 2.5 PINNY opens 2.5 but has not moved ...

So the question becomes is $$$ moving line at Pinny Still ? Or is the Move at BOL more valuable to pay attention to

cris bol bookmaker usually first up and I have been impressed with south point and Circa numbers when I was stopping in weekly for contests
