growing up in south florida, nothing beated spring training. I dont know the prices, but Im sure it was dirt cheap and the tiny "stadiums" and frequent autograph signing by the players was great for a kid

In dingy old Pompano field, where Texas trained, which was a crappy single A facility, the players actually had to walk thru the fans to get to the field from the shacks that passed for a clubhouse that were next to left field.

I got Carl Yaztrezemskis autograph there one day as he was walking to the game

you can, by the way, walk up to the Marlins box office 10 minutes before a game and get club level seats ( the fancy VIP type area with its own concourse, escalator up and all) behind home plate for $30 each. I have done that.
