Don't know if it has to do with winter, but I'm dragging my ass just to do less weights and less stations. I eat small and drink a low carb energy drink before I go into the gym.

Suggestions please!!!

Same problem here...I always lose motivation in the winter....the shirt ain't coming off for another six months. Football is another killer for me. My gambling addiction kicks into gear and I'll watch 20 hours of football in a weekend.

One thing that gets me motivated is simply researching fitness stuff on the internet, whether it's supplements or routines or whatever. I've been going to the gym regularly and recently upped my cardio. Put in some new music on my Ipod and just try to get lost in it.

Try something new at the gym. change up your routine. Better yet, set a small goal, whether it's to improve your squats/BP or run an extra 10 minutes or lose 5 pounds. Small goals lead to bigger goals.

That's a great point. When I do change the music, it does help. It's like I've used up those other songs.

1. What you eat.

Unless your on some kind of a low-carb diet, get some carbs in your body before you go to the gym. Carbs are the energy source that carries protein to the muscles. You need carbs for energy. Also drink more water.

2. Plateau

People plateau all the time. You have to break through this barrier but shocking your body. Try an energy supplement before going to the gym.

My favorite Met-rx Amped Power Punch pre workout drink. You really get amped. Drink is no lie.

3. Sleep

Get better hours of sleep. Have breakfast in the morning.

4. Change your music

and blast it

5. Set a new goal

You cant just go to the gym with nothing to work towards. Set a goal. Whether it is a weight goal. Or measure your stomach, biceps, etc. And set a goal to increase your measurements by next month.

I love working out in the winter. It sets you apart from the dedicated to the non. 2 Months before summer hits, my gym is filled with cocky ass HS kids trying to bench what I squat - cheating and all. The whole gym is full and takes me forever to get my workout done.

My motivation is simple. Before I started lifting I was 110lbs - no bullshit. I will never go back to being 110lbs ever again.

First let me start by saying, University of Florida athletic department did a study on different companies and products, and looked up their ingredients, and broke down the supplement to test what else they were putting in it, or if they were putting what they claimed they were, and Met-Rx was the most reliable. They do this so when their athletes get drug tested, they dont fail for some unknown shit. Other companies may have said they were putting caffiene as the main ingredient, but they put a very small amount of caffiene and the rest was ephedrine snuck in there(as an example). So MET-RX is a reliable and approved brand name.

power punch tastes fine...its not one of those drinks where you gotta get your mindset right otherwise you'll puke....its perfectly fine..i wouldnt drink it with dinner or anything....
but i drink half in the car and the rest during the 1st half of my workout as directed on the bottle and its great, then i fill the rest of it up with water at the water fountain and use it as a water bottle....the drinks are RTD (ready to drink)..you dont have to make a concoction...i buy 36 bottles (3 packs) and i have it for 2 months and just grab one before i leave the house to go workout.

HEy boxslayer just want to say thanks for the recommendation i was using celltech gakic and that just wasnt doing much. I tried that amped drink and that shit got me going. I felt like i was ready to start tossing around the 100lb dumbells

I play sports constantly. And what I do in the gym effects my game. Thus, I never go easy. If I workout shitty, I know my play will suck (maybe its mental thing)

Try a sport you really enjoy and want to excel at. That should motivate you to hit them weights harder.

I've heard mixed reviews about Nitric Oxide. Some say it's the best shit, others say it's no good. Nitric Oxide is the same stuff they use in Viagra I think. Are you a user of this stuff?

im curious here is it a known fact that gay people drink low carb energy drink before the gym. Just wondering how you came up with that

No doubt about it. Levi is right.

It's the low carbs. They will effect both your energy and your sleep.

As long as you 'eat clean' you should have no problem eating a normal amount of carbs.
