I follow KU and K-State alike, and I am afraid to say that Ku is a little overrated here. I have seen many top cappers picking KU in this game and I am afraid that I don't see it. Ku's defense has not stopped anyone....especially anyone with a running game. Whittimore is a very talented quarterback for the Hawks, but they lack the offensive line to provide him with time or their backs with running lanes. Ku will need MANY turnovers to keep this close. Consider the past few matchups between these two teams and consider what Kansas has done to literally bridge the gap......not a lot.

Manhattan is a TOUGH place to play and the rivalry is bitter. K-State is the side here or Lay Off. I am not saying take the Wildcats here, but do look into KU's performance on the road, the history of this rivalry, and KU's defensive statistics before placing your hard earned money on the Hwaks.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. Please give me your opinions on this game as well. I have followed your picks for a while and greatly respect and value your opinions.

I do like K-State in the first half as well, but prefer getting the full sixty minutes for them to run it up. This rivalry is so bitter that Snyder will not call off the dogs if K-State is rolling. So for the game, the numbers could get ugly.

Bear in mind that last year K-State was up 35-0 at the half. There is a chance that if KU can get a big play early or a turnover that they can keep it within the first half number - but I believe that they will need big plays in order to make this happen. I think that it is significantly more likely that K-State makes the big plays early, the crowd gets involved, and KU assumes their normal position this rivalry.....waiting for basketball.

The more I write about this game the more I like the Wildcats. This is not a regular game to them. In fact, I would say that the preception of K-State players and fans is that anything less than a severely lopsided win is a step backwards. I can't see Snyder and his players letting that happen.
