Long story short. I am going to California to be with my Nephew and little baby Clayton. A terrible accident happened last month and his wife didn't make it. They got in a bad wreck outside of Vegas on his way back to Vandenburg AFB. This has been a horrible month for my family.

So I left today at 6am. I am in Des Moines off of I80. There doesn't seem to be much here. I did drive by Praire Meadows and Casino so I might gothere for a few hours.

This drive is going to take me 4 days or so. I am looking forward to seeing the mountains that are comming up.

Have a safe drive. Blessings to all in your family who need them now.

I believe you'll find the stretch across Rocky Mountains outstanding.

(presume you're taking I70 through Denver, eh?)

Update: I made it past Denver. I am on I70 going through the mountains. What an awesome drive this was. I have never never seen anything like this. I have been in West Virginia mountains but its not even close. I am sure glad we bought a VW Jetta for this trip.

Next stop VEGAS for a night.

They don't call it the "Great Plains" for nothing. Heavy on the "plain" part as in nothing special about the scenery.

Sorry to hear about your loss TRS. Wishing you all the best.

Stuff like this helps you realize how trivial our day to day worries really are. We should all appreciate what we have.

Well if a mod wants to move the thread to the main forum thats fine.

I am in Cali now. got here a few days ago. I was in Vegas on friday and was in Ceasers Palace sportsbook to watch the Wings game. I lost a 50 parlay with the Tigers and Wings Oh well.

I am about 3 hrs north of LA. So it will be a pain in the ass to get to Hollywood Park. I would like to get there.

Also why am I banned from the main forum. I don't care about the poli forum but the main forum would be nice. How long ago was that?
