I am a firm believer that most people that are married are miserable

Happiness is a relative thing of the mind. For many ignorance must be bliss.

Would being retired with a billion dollars, having a harem to do your bidding,
and living like a king make you happier? I'm guessing you don't think about
such things often, or you'ld be miserable, or just not know what you're
not getting/missing. Though changing poopy diapers etc must've been fun,
if we want to speak about reality rather than just general statements of
eternal and constant marital bliss. Ooops, i forgot that over 50% of
marriages die long before the 2 spouses do ;
r u retired w a billion dollars and a harem? or r u just as happy doing what you do? if people like alcohol, does it matter if it is beer, wine, whisky, or whatever? only ea individual know's if he or she is happy with their lives. people don't have to live your type of lifestyle to be happy....

No billion here, although that might make matters worse, e.g. Howard Hughes.
Maybe a few million would be better.

I may be the most miserable MF here, although i'm sure being married again
would just make it worse. I don't even get along with most hookers. And still
looking for the one that cums with a mute button.

Kind of discouraging, Men and Women have come up to me to give their opinion on relationships in general or theirs. Main point seems to be if you plan to have children get married if not don t get married.....Have to agree from the people I know most seem unhappy. Point being people change over the yrs and one spouse likes the other more than the other. The compromising people do to built or keep an existing relationship going may leave from one spouse or the other. One of the spouses doesn t want to put up with things they used to endure. It seems never ending.

My parents have been together over 50 yrs and it s really out of convenience since they live together but rarely do anything together anymore. They have their separate rooms and the more they spend time together the more disagreements they have. They brought us up in a home with good morals and values but once we all left they seemed to grow apart. They were so busy working and taking care of us that they worked good as a team but once we were gone, they both became lost physically and emotionally. They could never get back the chemistry they had when they were so busy. You would hear I wish we had more time to spend together without life's challenges and distractions. Once all the time came around to spend together they were lost souls.

Man Sharky you nailed it. I agree with everything. My parents have been together 65 years and they are miserable. Once all the kids left things changed. Same with me and my wife. Once my kids left we realized caring for them was really the only thing we had in common. We were actually scared to be alone with each other without the kids being around. We both laugh about it now and we are both very happy in our new lives.

Not being married ≠ being alone

Well if you have no soul mate then what do you have when you are in your 70's and 80's.

No job to bury your head in.

No grandchildren to spoil, just daytime T.V.

Personally I would go to the track every day and study the racing form at night..........LOL

But man the holidays would suck huh.

I am my own soulmate. In my 70's & 80's, if i & the world lasts that long, i'll have the same
things that i have now for fun - hookers, online porn & chit chat, gambling, tv/movies, comedy, alcohol, & sex several times a day for 1-6 hours.

No job, no problem. Being retired i don't have time to do half the things i want to every day. As a recreational sports investor, i have a hobby of sorts that i enjoy doing, that i could spend 10 hours a day at, but seldom do because then it feels too much like work.

Well hell I took three days off from work this week and I am typing to you guy's.

Kids are in school and wife's at work and I am comatose in front of this damn screen.

I do chores and that last a couple hours.

Just saying for me I hate leaving the house but I also need companionship I guess.

I have a buddy same age as me never been married a day in his life and if he is not at work he's at The M. or on the golf course and I kinda envy him.

But then again grass seems green?

Hopefully I'll be dead in a Bangkok back alley before I'm 80.
