Lander I don't disagree whatsoever. There are countless influences on young people (read - teens, in the context of possible Stern listeners) besides their parents.
What I'm simply highlighting is that we must allow for personal responsibility, even for teens. If a teen receives counsel from parents and even many others, that Stern (for example) is a bad thing to listen to, and then the teen elects to listen anyway, it's not Stern who is the one that should be punished or censored.
The said teen chose of their own free will to listen and any criticism should be leveled directly at the teen's choice.
Thus, as your now 2-year old matures in coming years, he or she might well make choices (such as listening to dorks like Stern) you don't approve of. At that time, you can choose to lash out at Stern or you can respect the free choice made by your offspring.
In other words, it's not 'society's responsibility to make choices for young people. All we can do is teach and live by example. And then we must be ready to live with whatever choices they make, or else we spend a lot of time disabled while we try and 'fight' those choices we don't like.
