How easy would it be to get away with a robbery?

I wouldn't think it would be that hard. Criminals (95% of them, not the big time ones) are really stupid. The smart ones don't get caught. I'm always amazed when I read about someone being pulled over without their taillights working or speeding and they have over a million bucks in drugs they are transporting. Not sure how you can be trusted with that much dope but aren't smart enough to set your cruise control.

Funny you say that.

I know a guy that went to federal prison for 10 years for drugs.

Guy was a multi multi millionaire, had a perfect system of transporting cocaine and pot from just across the mexican boarder all the way up to the midwest. He talks about how he would always make sure everything on his vehicle was working perfectly (turning signal, headlights, brake lights etc..). He also made sure to drive cars that didn't stand out. He did this for years and years, never even having a close call with the law.

Then one trip he let his brother go (who wanted to break into the business) with him and made the mistake of letting his brother drive while he slept. His brother got pulled over going 95 in a 55 and the rest is history.

You don't really believe this is the reason a lot of these guys get pulled over do you?

That is the excuse given on some occasions.

MINEOLA, N.Y. — Police in New York are on the hunt for a prolific bank robber who wears many hats.
Police say the man donned a range of wacky headpieces as he committed eight bank robberies in Nassau County over the course of 2 ½ months ending July 23.
One of the banks was robbed twice.
Surveillance photos show the robber wearing a floppy white hat at one bank. At another, he accessorized with a baseball hat that had a picture of President Barack Obama on it.
And at another, he decided on a hat with a long wig attached.
Police believe it's the same robber in all the photos.
They say the stickup artist typically gives tellers a note threatening violence and demanding cash.

I knew a guy who robbed 15 banks. He always robbed the banks in grocery stores. He said it was the easiest way to get away with it. Him and a friend (not me btw) would change their license plates with a random car before they got to the store. He wore a wig and makeup to disguise his appearance. He would walk in with a small bag and go directly to the bank part. He would ask for the manager and talked normal telling the guy to fill the bag with money from the drawers and not put in any tracers or dies. The people always did it and if they gave him any back talk he would tell them I will knock you out right now. He would always hang out at the strip club and once saw himself in channel 4 news. He said you couldn't tell it was him from the picture they posted. The last time he did it he missed a tracer in the bag and the cops caught up with him. After pursuit on foot they caught him. He spent 5 years in federal prison after that. Hasn't done it since He said the average robbery he would get around 10k.

Wow, that's interesting.

I met a guy who would put on a fake mustache and fake scar. It almost plays a trick on the eyes and people can't get a good description other than those two attributes.

Only problem with federal crimes is that you will actually serve almost all your sentence. No quick parole like state crimes.

You guys know bank robbers?? That's crazy. I think the biggest criminal I knew was in high school and they were petty thieves. No one sense.
