How does Matt Nagy keep getting away with this?

Bears lowest yards per game in the league since making the change to Foles, Nagy's preferred QB who "deeply understands the Nagy offense."

It's a bit amazing... Bears hired Nagy to be an offensive guru coach, focusing purely on offense, he has absolutely nothing to do with the defense, and the Bears have been bottom 5 in almost every offensive category for like 2 1/2 years now.

It's a tough decision for the GM if they end up going 10-6, but I think you've got to fire him if you ever want to get better.

Well when you have an idiot GM with the 3rd pick of the draft and he trades multiple picks to SF to move up 1 spot in the draft when SF was not going to draft trubisky anyway .

Then watch KC draft Mahomes 7 picks later if I were a Bears fan I would find other things to complain about besides the head coach

And now you want the same GM that made those idiotic moves to fire the coach because he could not perform miracles with the QB he drafted ?

Pace and Nagy both need to go probably, but Nagy is maddening.

Pace also built this good defense. Is it smart to focus on defense in a league that refuses to allow players to play defense consistently? Probably not.

But the only thing Nagy is in charge of really is the offense and the offense is arguably the worst in the league. Some of it is personnel, but Nagy clearly doesn't play to his team's strengths, as evidenced by the fact he tried to make Trubisky into a pocket passer when that doesn't play to his strengths at all.

Two weeks in a row Mike Davis, Adam Shaheen, and Troy Burton scored four TD's for other teams. All were on the Bears and couldn't play dead. I don't know how much blame the GM gets, but I can't think of a player on offense who has improved under Nagy since he's arrived, and he is the offfensive guru.

Bingo.

Nagy is obsessed with Tarik Cohen and Patterson but neither player is that good. Especially since Nagy is very predictable when they are in the backfield or in motion.

The verdict is still out on Montgomery since this line can't run block to save their lives, but he looks like a mediocre or worse running back. Not very explosive and just dances in the backfield trying to find a hole for 1 yard.

Also Kmet looks pretty good at TE, but Nagy wastes plays and routes and targets for this Harris guy that looks like he has no talent.

"Offensive Guru" cracks me up. Brian Billick was an offense guru and yet he won a super bowl with an ELITE defense

Adam Gase is a "quarterback whisperer"

Seems like get a promotion and you spend less time on your "craft" as you have to deal with other stuff.

I remember when Mike Holmgren was both coach and GM of the seahawks, he had to spend a day or 2 before a game negotiating a contract extension (or for a hold out i cant remember) and it took away from gameday prep.

As chop said, i make fun of my bears fans friends for their Mitch T trade when Mahomes and Watson were sitting there. Gotta be stubborn when you invest so much in Mitch T. Gonna hurt EVEN WORSE if Mitch leaves and he shows success elsewhere

Mahomes would have been successful here. Not nearly as successful as he's been in KC, because KC and the Bears talent wise around the QB are night and day. But Watson would have been awful here, just like Mitch. That's obvious, especially as you watch Watson this year.

Watson has over 2k yards passing this season with 15 touchdown passes
Another 147 on the ground with a TD

But i agree as he has (and his team) looked like crap this season.

I'm rooting against the Texans this season so i'm enjoying their 1-6 record

Isnt Mitch a free agent after this season? Curious if he takes the same route as Jaemis and Mariota and leaves to become a backup?

Lets see how stubborn bears management is?

Watson is a great fantasy QB because that dude loves himself some garbage time stats.

I'd be curious to know what percentage of those stats are when his team is down multiple scores in the 4th. Seems like every time I check in on Watson his team is down 21-3 and he's doing terrible in the first half and then I check and he finishes with respectable stats.

I played against Watson this week in fantasy. He was AWFUL in the first half and I was going to text my buddy with a political comment in the text (we are on different sides) and decided not to.

Watson has a GREAT fantasy score on Sunday and I was wondering if I was watching that same game?

Montgomery reminds me of Matt Forte - not very talented but can do a little of everything. The key difference is Montgomery has no line. The Bears piss away so many draft picks in trades, it erodes the depth. Lower picks are needed to help your lines and special teams - two things the Bears have sucked for a few years at. It also keeps your payroll lower.

I would say Montgomery is terrible, just has no explosiveness. Very good at breaking tackles but he is breaking a tackle to turn 0 yards into 1 or 1 into 2. They traded up in the draft to pick him 3rd overall though so they're pretty high on him. He looks like he couldn't bust a run in the open field at the D3 level, nevermind college.

Their OL does suck though, Foles succeeded in Philly because he had a top tier OL that gave him time to make the throws, he needs protection as much as anyone in the league. Just isn't a good fit if they can't protect him, atleast Trubisky has shown some ability to improvise. They should go back to him but at 5-2, they will probably wait to stumble though.

Nagy rarely runs, then in his postgame press conference wonder why they didn't run more. Now one draft pick I didn't like was Kmet when they needed Claypool much more. The Bears WR's with no A Robinson this week will be hideous. Their next two games are the Saints and at Tenn.

3rd rd*...Not 3rd overall obviously

Kmet over Claypool? sounds like Nkeal Harry over DK Metcalf and AJ brown.

The problem with Kmet is they draft him to replace another high draft pick in Adam Shaheen and FA Troy Burton, then sign Jimmy Graham. If either one pans out, you don't need Kmet or Graham. Not only do they draft Kmet, he barely sees the field. Then the dumbass coach says he needs a TE to run the Chiefs offense.
