Knowing your coaches and their style of play is also important. some coaches are notorious for running up the score and some show mercy.
I like to follow the hot teams w/l record as they cover the spread at a much higher % than the losing teams. Of course also bet against teams with the real bad records and they usually have poor ats records.
Check this tad bit of info out: the top 5 teams last year ats and their W/L record in (). It pretty much holds true all the way down to the 300 teams on the list with very few exceptions. Point being don't bet on teams with bad records odds are the percentages are against you.
