Sherman, it depends on if you have a 'goback" feature on your computer; this would allow you to go back in time to a certian date and have those setting put back.. Other than that I would say reformatt; takes about 2 hours+saving what you want to a disk.

Since your in the same boat as me (5year old PC)I would say do a formatt and start clean.

Sherman, what king of PC is it?

I would call your computer's tach support and have them walk you through it, if I may be able to help you

If you've already backed up all the valuable information on the PC, then boot up from your windows pc. preferably winxp or 2000, they both have different steps, but if your pc is from HP, you probably have a custom system disk.

Boot up with that then if you hit a d:\ just type in format c: and then follow instructions on screen.

This is however not recommended if your not at all familar with computer lingo. Just take it to someone who knows or contact their customer service due to possible and likly variations in steps.

Sherman, like I stated before, I would call your PC's tech support and have them walk you through it. I know how to format a computer and have a pretty good idea how yours would go, but not 100%. Another option would be to goto the HP website and look for instructions on formatting your PC.
