How do I allow other members to e-mail me from my profile?

There is a checkbox in the "User CP" to allow other members to send an e-mail. I put a check in the box, but when I tried to send an e-mail to myself through my profile, I get the following message.

"Sorry! That user has specified that they do not wish to receive emails. If you still wish to send an email to this user, please contact the administrator and they may be able to help."

The function is off so to help you from scammers, frauds, and touts so that when these situations transpire between posters, we do not have to hear about on the forum.

Can you modify your software? As an idea, allow any person with 200 posts to use email. Treat the email as "pseudo-public" meaning expect the mods to read it if they want. If a person uses it for advertising, disable the email for that user.
