I would love to know the same, I've noticed the joints only seem to get worse with age though Derek. I take a Joint Support supplement from Trader Joe's, it seems to help quite a bit, but my joints still aren't as good as my teens or 20's. I can say it did help with the extension of my elbows, before I took the supplement I wasn't able to fully extend them.

I have much the same problem Derek, my elbows crack a lot when doing presses of any kind, I just push forward and do it. I think it's maybe arthritis, but who knows?

The supplement I take has MSM, Glucosamine, and Chrondrotin and it seems to be helping with my overall elbow extension, but not the noises they make. :lolBIG:

I'll go check that out tomorrow..and yea when im doing presses it cracks and i do the same...push forward buddy...im afraid one day my elbow instead of just cracking is gonna break and let those 200lbs fall on my chest...the good thing is that if it really happens i dont think i'd have to worry for my joints anymore:lolBIG:

I had some bad problems with my shoulder - I couldn't lift for a year. I turned 45 and was completely frustrated. Tried all kinds of things - chiropractic, acupuncture, anti-inflammatory medicine, rest, ice, heat, nothing worked until...

1st, I went to Costa Rica on one of my business trips and asked a friend there. They got me an aerosol spray called Voltaren, a non-steroid topical spray. I had immediate improvement in shoulder. Just follow the directions - pretty simple.

2nd, I read a book about recovering from joint injury and took this advice: Use less weight and do negatives. For instance, on bench press, go up on a two count and down on a 4 count - no explosive motion and aim for 10 reps. Less stress on your joints that way.

I can't say I'm as strong as I was before the shoulder problem but have been lifting pain free for a year now so I'm pretty happy about that.

By the way, book also recommends stretching exercises which I am not as diligent about and eating a lot of vegetables with anti-oxidants such as brocolli, cauliflower, green beans, etc. which I try and follow pretty closely.

Good luck, Derek, hope it gets better for ya.

Got milk?

Does milk/calcium help with strengthening joints? I know it's good for bones, not sure I've ever heard calcium as actually being beneficial for joints; if it is, that would be great.
