Calm down Erica Kane with all the drama. One of the biggest blunders in NFL history? McNair was a Pro-Bowl QB LAST year. It's not liked they grabbed Phil Simms off the sidelines. They want him for two years to try and win now and to teach Boller. What does the 12 million (actually $11 million signing bonus and $1 million in salary) have to do with anything? They have plenty of cap room. Why not spend it? The Titans were going to have a $23 million salary cap hit to keep him.
There was never any scenario where the Titans were going to take a $23 mil hit to keep McNair. They were going to release McNair at the last minute and have now gotten a fourth round pick (possible third) from the Ravens.
McNair was a replacement for the Pro Bowl last year due to several others who had injuries. Did you see his "performance" in that game, the few snaps he took?
Look, you will not find a bigger McNair fan than me. I have, on this forum, on many occasions remarked about his past greatness and toughness. PAST.
I wish nothing but the best for McNair and don't blame him for snagging the big payday.
Biggest blunder remains to be seen. Time, as always, will tell.
I'm not sure where the Erica Kane comment comes from but I suggest you watch more football and less All My Children.
Best wishes to the Ravens this year and be sure to have a backup plan at quarterback.
