As if it was scripted, the Senate is currently voting on a "Supplemental Spending Bill" (C-SPAN 2).

I'm impressed by the fiscal responsibility shown by both the Executive and Legislative branches of gov't....:hanging:

Obama's Global Tax Bill Coming Soon

Lee Cary
The Global Poverty Act of 2007 (S.2433) is coming up for a Senate vote sometime after the July 4 recess, according the office of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. Once Harry Reid and the Democrat leadership put it on the calendar, we could have as little as a week to prepare for the vote.

The bill is sponsored in the Senate by Barack Obama. Read about it here.

If passed, it will cost taxpayers $845,000,000,000 over the next 13 years, in addition to our current foreign aid expenditures.

And the best part is that it will be administered in conjunction with...brace yourselves...the United Nations. The same one of "Food-for-Oil" fame.

It passed (H.R. 1302) earlier by a unanimous voice vote in the House.

It's about global income redistribution. Their distribution - our income.

Heard much debate about it? Ah, it's only 8.5 tenths of a trillion.

Billions of Dollars Unaccounted For in Iraq, Pentagon IG Reports

Want to see a signature worth $320 million? Click here. It belongs to Jack Gardner, an official with the now-defunct Coalition Provisional Authority, who in July 2003 authorized that amount to be transferred to the Iraqi Ministry of Finance for the payment of Iraqi salaries. There are no other records of the transfer, just Mr. Gardner's John Hancock. Now that's power.

Oh...That....um...sir...That is the typical bill we have to pay the rest of the world to win back our original standing amongest other nations of the world..

See your twice elected idiot in the white house squandered all our good will so now we have to pay people to like us...

Kinda like how we are doing in Iraq, paying all the sunnis, Shia and Kurds not to fight.

Call that American STupid tax(stupid as in dumbasses who voted for a fool too stupid to stop reading "My pet Goat" when people were dying on 9-11)...(when we are through..no one will be bombing us or pinching americans every chance they get..) They will like us again.. Sir!

$845,000,000,000 or $845 billion is 84.5% of a trillion. It may as well be a trillion. The money Congress spends is obscene.:puke1:

Joe--I agree w/you and hope you didn't misinterpret my post. We have killed so many global political/diplomatic relationships that we have a lot of enemies despite buying "friendship".

huh?

i'm talking about government spending

government spending from welfare to iraq needs to be reduced

"economic growth is something we can control"

LOL so much for the free market conservatives

where the markets determine growth not federal officials

they trying to control it as we speak we see how well that is working out

If you think 100 billion per year is the source of our problems...you are whacked.

"A few hundreds of millions will not get the job done." --Senator Mary Landrieu when describing funding for flood prevention construction to last 100 years.

A few hundres of millions???? What is she smoking? That is a sh!t load of money for one project. Or should I say, one "non-War" project?
