The Warriors crushed the Rockets, 120-101, in their last meeting back on December 3rd at Golden State. I see this as a repeat of that mismatch as Houston is ill-equipped to hang and bang with the Warriors, even if this Golden State iteration is not of the same elite caliber as in championship years past. Houston is just 2-6 ATS against Golden State over their last eight meetings.
The Warriors’ No. 2 ranked offense, averaging north of 118 points per game, is simply too much for the Rockets' 25th-ranked defense. Nevertheless, there are injuries on both sides of the ball with Houston’s Kevin Porter not quite ready to return to action while Jalen Green will be sitting with a groin injury. As for Golden State, Steph Curry will remain sidelined while Andrew Wiggins could return after missing Thursday’s game with a personal issue.
Yes, the Warriors are on the second leg of back-to-back games but if it’s any team you want to see in this scenario, it’s the NBA’s worst, the Houston Rockets.
