A trainer, a jockey and two horses have been inducted into the National Museum of Racing's Hall of Fame.
Trainer Shug McGaughey trained "Easy Goer" to victory in the 1989 Belmont Stakes. McGaughey has won nearly 1,400 races for nearly $84 million in earnings, including eight Breeders' Cup events.
Kent Desormeaux is one of only three jockeys to win the Eclipse Award as both top apprentice jockey and veteran rider. He set the U.S. record for wins in a year with 598 in 1989, and is a two-time winner of the Kentucky Derby.
The horse "Skip Away" won 18 races in his career, and was named Horse of the Year in 1998. He stands second on the all-time earnings list with just under $10 million.
"Flawlessly" was voted champion grass mare of 1992 and 1993. She won 16 career races for more than $2.5 million.
The four will be formally inducted in August in Saratoga Springs, New York.
