Northwestern -11 -110
Have been bleeding Orange since I was born. It's sad to see where this team has fallen. Plain and simple they don't have the talent to compete anymore. Northwestern is an awful matchup for the Orange. The spread offense will do just that. Spread the field and expose Syracuse's lack of speed and size. There is no way Northwestern's experienced offense doesn't hang 35+ on the Orange. As far as offense Syacuse's offensive line is a joke. Andrew Robinson is an average at best quarterback. He lacks the accuracy that is needed to succeed with the talent he has. Losing Taj Smith early to the draft, and Mike Williams to academics exposes the only strength they may have had. Williams is under sized and lacks the speed to produce consistantly and Lobdell lacks football senses. Running backs are decent, but won't have a prayer to succeed behind a brutal O line. The Orange can maybe get a TD or 2 on the board just cause NW defense is nothing special, but that won't nearly be enough for the cover for what is sure to be another long yr.

Michigan -3 -110
Seems like nobody is giving Michigan much chance in this game? For some reason I just don't see Utah walking into the big house and coming out with a win. I don't care what is said about Rich Rodriguez he is an excellent coach and I think very highly of what he can do. This hiring is exactly what Michigan needed. They need a coach who is in their face. For years I felt they lacked discipline, which led to disappointing seasons such as last. Since the offense will experience a major overhaul Rodriguez putting in his scheme won't be as tough. Sure they will not master the offense right away, but their may be some opportunites against a young Utah D. Michigan's defense will be their strength. They are experienced and talented. They return all the guys upfront, both corners, and bring in a JUCO lineback that will play the strong side. IMO Utah will have a tough time running the ball against Michigan. Mack doesn't have the speed to get to the outside, and will not be able to pound the ball up the middle. I expect Michigan's defense to help the offense and protect their home field.
