Hollyweird is a joke.

Hollywood Bosses Vow to Destroy Gibson

"I won't hire him. I won't support anything he's part of."

So says a chairman of major Hollywood studio quoted today by the New York Times in its latest attack on Mel Gibson and "The Passion of the Christ."

Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, who along with Steven Spielberg are the big cheeses at the powerful DreamWorks, and who just happen to be Democrat activists, are angry about the movie, according to the Times. And the chairmen of two other big studios, who of course remain anonymous, say they won't work with Gibson.

"Amid the daily dealings of Hollywood, the film and the star have been fodder for unfavorable gossip. Dustin Hoffman has talked to friends about what he called Mr. Gibson's 'strangeness' during the ABC interview. The producer Mike Medavoy said Mr. Gibson's religious zealotry made him feel uncomfortable," the Times fretted.

'Antichrist' Welcome

Others, however, think Tinseltown's notorious avarice will rule in the end.

"If the movie works, I don't think it will hurt him. People here will work with the Antichrist if he'll put butts in seats," said John Lesher, an agent with Endeavor.

And the butts, as Lesher so delicately puts it, are there. The movie, budgeted at $25 million or $30 million, according to conflicting media reports, is already breaking even.

Record Audience

The movie, playing on 4,643 screens in 3,006 theaters, made an astonishing $23.6 million Wednesday, in addition to $3 million earned in private screenings for church groups Monday and Tuesday, the Associated Press reported this afternoon.

The box office is unprecedented for an R-rated foreign-language movie. Only studio blockbusters such as "Spider-Man" have had better openings.

Looks as if Gibson will get to laugh all the way to the bank. "After theater owners take their cut, about half of the box-office take will come back to Gibson, who then pays Newmarket a percentage fee for distribution," AP said.

The hollywood libs words are just a bunch of hot air. They simply do not like republicans and who really gives a crap about them liberal fags anyway. Some of the best and most successful actors are republicans - big surprise there.

Arnold Schwarznnegger
Kurt Russel
Tom Selleck
Mel Gibson
Bruce Willis
James Woods

Now that is a list that has some testosterone built into it. I'm sure their are more than these six but not a bad list to start with. No eunichs allowed in the republican party.

Kman, he's not being blacklisted 'because of his religion.' It's not like Hollywood is saying 'that damn Catholic.' He's being blacklisted because Hollywood execs, who happen to be largely Jewish, think Gibson portrayed them in a racist context. Personally, I think it's crap and I plan to see the movie just to see how legit these claims may be.

But the way you spin stuff into anti-liberal rhetoric is astounding.

There has been many movies about the life of jesus. Why all the fuss now? At the end, they will forget because, Mel Gibson is a box office draw.

Just don't expect the movie to win any type of awards

Some skepticism about Mr. Selleck I see. Well just in case, I'll throw in another, backup.

The list to choose from for my republican testosterone filled team is:

Richard Gere
Danny Glover
Martin Sheen
Tim Robbins
Cher
Kevin Spacey

and then there is the one and only:

Clint Eastwood

You got it, its none other than Mr. Clint Eastwood. To balance out both Cher and Susan Sarandon in case we are looking for a girls team, I give you none other the the beautiful, sexy, hot, conservative ( except for a little ass shot now and then ) - Goldie Hawn.

It's pretty surprising that anyone would think that depicting the death of Jesus (as a historical figure) would be antiSemitic towards people alive today.

Do people of German ancestry today declaim movies that depict the accurate antiSemitism of the Nazi regime, and think it is a personal reflection on them?

While historians have little doubt that the followers of Jesus whitewashed the Romans of much of their responsibility in the matter while depicting the Jews as the bad guys (because the Roman Empire was the area of expansion for the new religion, not just because they were the political power), at the same time this is pretty old news, isn't it?
