Which is more profitable for you? ..I love Hold em but just started playing Hi / Lo
and I am thinking that this is THE game to play.

I am Not up to the higher limits yet, but seem to be doing just fine at the .25/.50 levels. Do the players play the same way in a Hi/Lo game at $2/$4 or $5/$10 the same way they would .25/.50 or $1/$2?

Just curious

Omaha8 is a pretty straightforward game, as you usually know if you are ahead or whether you have the best draw or not. There is a little more luck involved, and with several people chasing half the pot you can get counterfeited and lose. The Omaha8 book written by Mark Tenner and Lou Krieger is probably the best book right now to get you up to speed in the game. For tournaments, especially Sit n' Go's, I've come to prefer NL Hold'em, because there is no pot sharing -- you get payed off with the whole pot every time. I do consistently well in the NL, but in Pot Limit Omaha8, I've had very streaky results, though I've won a few of the MultiTable tournaments. Overall, I think Omaha8 is funner to play, especially limit, but you've got be very selective with your starting hand requirements. Good luck as you move up in stakes! (You'll find players playing weak hands all the way up to 5-10 and oftentimes beyond.)

At lower levels there are some terrible Omaha Hi/Lo players. Some don't even know how to play the game on a basic level.

The problem you will run into is that at higher levels most of the bad players have been weeded out. This is not true in Hold'em. Also, there are 1000 hold'em games for every hi'lo game, so by pure numbers it is more profitable.

This is the main reason to play O/8 in opinion even though the games are harder to find.

However if you happen to play with only competent players the game can be very boring and not profitable.

If you think holdem is boring, playing O8 properly is like watching grass grow. At low levels, the game can be profitable because most players have no idea how to play well.
