Granted it was a Monday night...but 3 blackjack tables open with a total of 6 people actually (4 other people). Had to wear a mask the whole time (handed out at the entrance) and my drinks were served in a togo plastic cup. Tried to play craps but got denied. looked like the max on the table was about 7. They told me to social distance 6 ft even though the players were about 2 ft from each other.
I won 5 hundy in 15 minutes and bolted. Will not work long term.
Was in Nola 3 nights total, now staying at Portofino Island resort...place it nice. Beach and all the restaurants are packed and not a single mask to be found. We only went to open air seating on the gulf or bay...but some places were 2 hr wait.
Pretty much had to wear a mask everywhere in Nola when not at a table or the bar.

Thanks for the update. Here in Cincinnati it’s a joke. Mask required with temp taken. Plastic dividers every other machine off. And every 30 mins they spray the tables and make everyone step away.

No way businesses can run like this long and make a profit

This is a joke......once casinos start closing down because of all the regulations, & not enough business, they will realize the error of their ways

What’s comical is BJ tables limited it 4 people. No dividers at the roulette table. Haha. Big advantage in the house other than penny slots

Nice. Hope you can relax without being COVID precautioned to death.

They opened my local casino (NH) for Belmont Day. I didn't go. Haven't missed a Belmont in 150 years. But I didn't want to deal with the new regulations due to the virus. Apparently a lot of people thought like me as my friends are telling me that it wasn't overwhelmingly busy. But jeez, Bob, they have 6 foot separations between barstools. How's that sound for having a beer with your buddies?

Man, I hope we see normalcy again soon.

Thanks for the update Falls. I have to clear out some credit with Southwest and was shooting to go to New Orleans before it expired (Oct). This is the final day of a sale so I guess I'll book today for the discounted rate. I was hoping to possibly do a Saints game (last year's game was horrendous so I figured I'd give it one more shot). I'm guessing no go on that. I can't say I'm real excited about Harrah's hearing your story, but I figured it's a quick getaway and with a comp room, I figure it's gotta be better than just letting the airfare expire. What about walking around outside and restaurants away from the casino? Any restrictions?

I'm looking to book flights to Reno/Lake Tahoe for August.

I miss Tahoe. Used to go there at least once a month. Had standing comps at Mont Bleu. I was so bad. Half the time, I never even left the casino for the whole weekend, despite the gorgeous scenery there.

Funny, I am going to NOLA first week in August with comped rooms and I will walk around town, go to high end restaurants and escape into the casino to play some fairly high limit video poker.

I love Nola and spent at least a hundy at almost every place we went to help out...used to hate it when I lived there (working after Katrina for a year or so). We probably go quarterly...the city was pretty dead. not after Katrina dead, but dead. and that made it great.
we never go down bourbon...but wanted to last weekend since some of that stuff was just allowed to open last Friday and I figured there wouldn't be a bunch of idiots. it was all locals walking around. I ended up buying and eating 6 lbs of crawfish from a dude selling them out of a cooler out of a truck backed up on bourbon after coming out of the bourbon house. and that was as far as we made it.
no outdoor performers are allowed out now...and that's half the attraction to walking around.
frenchmen is usually a go to for us (three muses)...but indoor bands still aren't allowed so we didn't even waste our time.
I usually end up at avenue pub nightly as they have one of the best bourbon (and beer) lists in the country and at great prices...but Polly (the owner) is all about the rona and didn't have anything except the back patio opened. (She had just laid off a bunch of employees since her ppp) expired that day.
had to make a reservation for Cure...which was voted best cocktail bars in the country a couple of years ago.
that's annoying.
the Carousel bar was open, but it was a weird vibe with every other two seats vacant. bartenders were still kind of prickish per usual alot of times.
and alot of the bars reopened as restaurants so that they could get 50% capacity...so you had to buy food anytime you wanted a drink.

atchafalaya is my fave restaurant in the city and it's open. it's towards the lower garden district (which is the best part of the city imo)
brennans just opened back up.

Nice! where is Portofino Island? Never heard.

My friends live on St George Island. Beaches are packed. They have 2 confirmed cases. Both survived. You won't find this info on MSM.
