Mike Trout, the player, is so interesting. I can't think of a single player in any sport that is the best of their generation and their team is always awful. I believe he still has yet to be part of a team that has won a single play-off game, and he plays in one of the largest markets in sports.
This is in no way an indictment on Trout, he is every bit as good as advertised. I just wouldn't think the best player in a sport over 5 plus years playing in the market of L.A., that it would be possible to be so bad year after year after year. I could be wrong, but i believe his team has made the play-offs once and get swept by K.C. So interesting that this is possible.
Signing Josh Hamilton(who i believe they are still paying) and Albert Pujols(by metrics and play time computes out to just about the worst player in baseball) More than a half billion dollars over the life of their contracts probably doesn't help the cause.
