LINZ_IA found a very good job for a 20 year old that just moved here from Iowa.

The town is growing, so the market for jobs is increasing.

I wouldnt hesitate for a second in recommending Tampa has a place to live.

Love it here......great weather, income tax free, friendly, many things to do and see, etc.

Now in 10 years, may be a different story, but for know it is fantastic.

Agree with FISH, things are booming here. Very easy business start up here compared to other places too. Cost of living is great allthough home prices went up a bunch in last 2 years (good for my investments). I have twice the house here with a caged inground pool and hot tub on land for over 70K less than a small townhouse in Chicago. I'll never move back, the midwest is a dreary putide place to be. I'm gonna go read the trib by my pool it's 80 and sunny today, FISH will attest to that. JOBS ARE PLENTIFUL.

HERE at the hard rock we created over 1200 new jobs last year with the opening of the hotel. There is much work for all types of construction and real estate support sales appraisal mtg. Depending on what you can and can't do, If it pays about the same I'D BE HERE. Tampa is an hour to Orlando and accross the bridge to St. Pete's. If your an avid golfer rates for locals are great especially off season. If you like to fish, there is nowhere better year round. If your a sports fan the college football teams in this state can't be matched on a year to year basis. I have a non-stop barrage of visitors though so i may need a bigger house with a kid on the way.

As long as you move somewhere close to Tampa Illini you should be fine. Orlando is within driving distance, although you would be better off there perioid. Orlando is the next LA , except nicer........

I have never understood why all these Central and Northern Florida towns are so cheap and yet all the stuff in the South is so damn expensive. I almost bought a condo as an investment back in 2000 in the South Beach area. Nothing fancy like these new towers, just a modest apartment like building. Was only 70k back then. Now I kick myself, 220k for a unit in the same building. I sensed a boom, but nothing like it turned out. So I wonder is there a coming boom in Orlando and Tampa, or is it just the lack of land and the cachet that comes with Miami driving those insane increases?

Bill, Orlando & Tampa both have been booming for years & years, but especially Orlando. This city will just continue to explode more than any city in the country. Plenty of land to continue on. As for $$'s, you just have to be in the right business, and you passed up on one of those above by passing on that condo...........lol

hey Fish, I'm coming down to the Tampa area next month to catch some Spring Training. It will be my third year in a row down there. Was wondering if you would be interested in grabbing a drink one day and shooting the breeze....
