Orchard Park, NY - The Bills today announced that the team has agreed in principle on a contract with free agent safety Lawyer Milloy.
Milloy, 29, spent the last seven seasons with the New England Patriots, who selected him in the second round of the 1996 NFL draft out of Washington. He went on to appear in all 112 games for the Patriots since that time and has started the last 106 straight contests for New England.
In his time with the Patriots, Milloy (6-0, 210) recorded 846 total tackles, including 7.0 sacks. He also intercepted 19 passes, including one that he returned for a touchdown.
He has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the past two seasons and four times in his career (1998, 1999, 2001, 2002). In 1999, he recorded a career-high 173 total tackles, including two sacks, and led the team with four interceptions.
