just for a quick background, im an ethnographer. i work for a large company. a company of which many of you may own product or two. when it comes to focus groups/one on one interviews im the guy that conducts them. i know that many people lie to make the extra cash, which is fine by me, but that is why i am very selective with my choices regarding candidates. i like to make sure my research is accurate as my job depends on it. other companies/independent brokers arnt as selective. if anyone is in southern california i know a couple places that all you have to do is fill out a interest card, get in good with one of the reps, and bingo! at least one group/interview a week. they run 1-2 hours and pay 50-125$$$. just know the general knowledge of the product/service they are interviewing for and you will always get called to do more. if you go in cold and try to bullshit (like you lie and say you own a motorcycle but have no idea what they are talking about) you will most likely never get called to do one again.
i usually do demographic specific interviews but the next time i do a broad spectrum of people, RXers will be the first to know.
just make sure you really own the product (in my case. otherwise by all means bulshit and make that $$$)
