Help a rookie out

I am not too far out of college and still paying off my dreaded student loanshno:

I am luckly enough to have a couple thousand laying around and while I am young I am really interested in making some investments. Stocks, CD, etc

Of course I have been doing my own research but I was just wondering if anyone has some valuable information or any suggestions they might want to pass along. (Sites, personal experiences, opinions. etc
