Has anyone every bought Travel Insurance on an international trip?

I do on my trip to New Zealand.

My initial flight was delayed 3 hours.

Then on that delay my luggage was left in Houston.

In Auckland my connection was missed waiting on luggage that never made it. And I was delayed again for 6 hours this time.

I finally made it to Dunedin 7 hours delayed with no luggage.

Got my luggage 36 hours later.

Theg offered me $66 American for the things I had tj buy while my luggage was lost.

Thisnis what my insurance covered. Am I missing something?

You'd have to look into the exact details of your insurance clause

Example baggage delay $100 how many hours delay before you can claim that
I'd ask them why you not entitled to the $100

Seems like they owe you the misconnection $500 no ?
