Halftime betting in soccer?

I have never betted halftime on soccer before, but was wondering

does it go by the final score or the 2nd hf score like basketball?

Lets say:

MAN U is up 1-0 hf

I see MAN U -1/2 -400 O 2.5 - 131

and I play O 2.5

Is that 2.5 for the TOTAL SCORE? or the 2nd HALF SCORE ONLY (like nba)

2nd half..unless u are talking about in game betting....then it would be the final score
