Thanks man.. I'll keep an eye out for the Marlins..

Reds fucked me once last season, I'm probably a little gun shy to chase with them but you never know.

I'm wondering if the MArlins are solid, or are the Nationals just really bad?

Don't be fooled by the Fish. They own the Nats like nothing I have ever seen before. 16-3 record against the Nats over this season and last season. They are mediocre against the rest of the league. For whatever reason they have the Nats number and play like world beaters against them. It's crazy.

I'm not putting too much stock into the Marlins because of this series by any means, but I actually pegged Reds, Marlins, White Sox as underrated teams to tail early in the season prior to yesterdays games so I'm basing it more on that.

I just think Hanley should be a monster hitting his prime and a few guys with speed in front of him and some power behind him. I'm mostly sold on them because their starting pitching seems solid.
It's tough to call these things so early tho, but maybe if you're starting out with smaller units then these types of teams are worth a try b/c of their good lines most of the time.

they definitely aren't a bad team at all but no way will they be this year's Rays.

true...that was in another thread though, with a different goal, plus I was just throwing them out as a possibility but I started with the disclaimer that I didn't think ANY team would be like the Rays last year. The guy was looking for a wild long-shot so I gave him the best guesses I had lol

Anyway, I'm gonna stop cluttering Gyno's thread and see what he has to say or what he's playing tomorrow. Just wanted to clear that up.:103631605

I agree with you about the White Sox's sir.. I have them pegged underrated as well.. :toast:

Its okay if you are cluttering the thread I dont trip off things like that, I actually like the conversation about games.. No one knows so much that they can't learn a thing or two.. Two minds are better than one.

Ya for the most part they return the same team that won the division last year and now are generally seen as 3rd or 4th place finisher :think2:

Lost Garland and Griffey who provided little (if anything) more than the guys that will replace them. And Getz at 2nd/moving A. Ramirez to SS sounds as if theyre going to make people forget about losing Orlando Cabrera. Projected for about 80 wins and I think they can certainly get closer to 90-92 if they play as well as I think. Lets hope anyway...

I'm as shocked as you are that they played so terribly tonight.

Although as a Sox fan I can't say that I'm unhappy about it

But I hope they get it done for you tomorrow, dont wanna see anybody lose, thats for sure. GL man...

Successful first stage, avoided chasing the Indians anymore than that one game and profited for this stage..
