Yes, youll remember him as our last coach during the World Cup, brazilian Alexander Guimaraes.....

He is now coaching first division team Cartago... yesterday they visited champ Alajuela...

They got off to a 1-0 lead and then, around the 20th minute, one of their defenders got red carded for a hard foul on an Alajuela forward.......

Players start to complain to the ref and one of them runs into a teammate who then runs into the ref.....

Ref pulls out a second red card and shows it to the first player that ran into the other...

Cartago players get more pissed off and another player (as everyone else surrounds him) pulls the ref and he gets red carded....

So far we have three reds but were not finished...Sandro Alfaro (Cartago mid) pushes the ref who falls flat on his butt, ref inmediately gets up and red cards him....

10 minutes later, Alajuela scores to tie it, so Guimaraes orders, on the kickoff for his guy to grab the ball with his hands (already had a yellow) so he would get the second yellow and get red carded too....

He does, teammate touches the ball on the kickoff, other guy picks it up with his hands, gets the second yellow. Game over.......

Guimaraes, you worthless son of a bitch....What a disgrace to soccer, to competitiveness everywhere....

The people (rightly so) were SO PISSED OFF.....

JackDee,

A game can't continue with less than 7 onfield players for one side. I guess it's the point of the story.

alright, i misread, thought slim meant brazil's coach was guimaraes.

i have to confess i didn't know that. One of these rules you never learn because they are almost never an actuality.

11 year olds in Halifax were taught that from day one.

Mind you, it was a pretty rough area.

I see you are the type to keep a grudge orchard. Seems like the mods scolding you for rascist and obnoxious behaviour in an anonymous internet forum has not been that easy to get over.

No problemo.

It's nice to know i have an automatic post up reply by you whenever i faulter, makes for a good marker.

This IS one of the most obscure rules in soccer, and you know that well, obviously you couldn't let that spoil the opening spot here.

I suppose wiseass-ness was another peculiar practise those 11 year olds in halifax were taught from day one.

Good luck to you too.

Jesus, Jack!
I offered a comical slant on the 7 man rule and you choose to continue where you left off last season.
What is it that irks you so badly, Jack?
I guess the wine and the seafood didn't do the trick, buddy.

Your writing still is laboured and very unclear, excuse me but i can't seem to trace the comical slant in your post, maybe now that you mention it i can see some slight sense of irony, i am sorry if you ment well and i took it the wrong way, sometimes the way you write makes for some very hard reading, and bear in mind i ve read joyce's finegans wake, lol, well in any case best of luck.

LOL.

Hey Jack, show me a little love man....Guimaraes was our coach and the game only stops with the 5th red card.

jack you clearly responded too quickly as peter's post was obviously friendly in tone.

even his reply would indicate he is prepared to drop whatever ill feeling existed in the past.

bol.

so it seems, and that's why my second rply was humourous and friendly in tone too, i already apologised for misconstruing peter's post, i had just gotten so used to reading negative comments from him that it just came as a reflex.

"Hey Jack, show me a little love man....Guimaraes was our coach and the game only stops with the 5th red card."

No war zone here slim man, too boring, and i feel your pain too with, that whole guimaraes, five red cards situation, can't say it's happened to me before, but it does look like a really freaky finale to a football game.

bol, jack.
