Group B Advancement Question

Nigeria has no chance to advance do they? They sit with 0 points and even if they win their final game wouldnt they be out on the tie breaker?

Any help and clarification would be greatly appreciated.

not out of it yet..argentina would have to beat greece and nigeria would have to drub s.korea in order to advance on goal differential..and have the greater goal difference than both s.korea and greece...

in the world cup they decide it on the difference of goals....so if nigeria wins with 1 goal and argentina beats greece then nigeria will advance because their goal count would be -1 while korea and greece would both have -2 goals.

(a) Win or tie versus Greece
(b) South Korea tie/loss versus Nigeria
(c) Loss as long as both South Korea and Greece do not make up tiebreakers

South Korea advances with:
(a) Win versus Nigeria and Greece does not either (1) win by greater margin, or (2) win by same margin and score 2+ more goals
(b) Tie and Greece tie/loss

Greece advances with:
(a) Win versus Argentina and South Korea tie/loss
(b) Win by greater margin than South Korea
(c) Win by same margin as South Korea and score 2+ more goals
(d) Tie and South Korea loss
(e) Win by 3+ goals

Nigeria advances with:
(a) Win versus South Korea and Argentina win

not likely..argentina's backup squad could thrash greece....and messi isn't getting the day off either....maradona doesn't want to deprive the fans of seein the greatest player on earth...(his words..not mine)...

greece plays reactional kind of game, but now they just need to force something, and the argentinians gladly will take some chances and score. think a 2-1 type of game is very realistic with argentina winning.
