Okay here is my thinking.... Monday is Columbus Day (10/12) the day that Christopher Columbus discovered America 517 years ago. Or at least that is what I learned when I was in grade school. RESULTS :

Horses 5, 9, 12 were scratched leaving a 3 hore box.

Ramon Dominquez was jockey on #14 after scratches were announced.

OF course the 14 wins the race. My pick the #7 came flying down the lane and got second.

$41. invested after scratches.. Collected $60. on the #7 finishing second.
