Jennings has missed ten days of camp after suffering a concussion in the Packers' preseason scrimmage. "I'm shooting in the dark," McCarthy said. "It's not going as well as Greg would like. It's going to be a couple more days." Teammate James Jones isn't a head doctor, but sounded optimistic. "Greg will be fine," promised Jones. "He's just going through the procedures and all that stuff. I believe it's his first one he's ever had, so they're just monitoring him."

Jennings is looking to pull a Jason Witten and play despite a "doubtful" tag. Doubtful designations technically means there's a 25 percent chance a player suits up, but doubtful players almost always end up sitting out. The Packers could just be doing their best to keep the Bears on their toes. If you're an owner, it's still safest to assume Jennings will be out. Even if he does play, owners with depth at receiver might be wise to opt for a healthier option.

Jennings was held out of last Thursday's win over the Bears to ensure that he'd be near 100 percent going forward. By the time this week's game against the Seahawks rolls around, he will have had two full weeks to recover from his seemingly minor strain. It's safe to pencil Jennings back in as a solid WR1. James Jones heads back to his bench role after faceplanting in his spot-start.

As opposed to a veteran day of rest, this appears to be a setback after Tuesday's return to a padded practice. Coach Mike McCarthy told Sirius NFL radio that Jennings is "frustrated" and "doesn't feel like he has a handle on (the injury) yet." McCarthy added that Jennings has been "up and down" and his early-week work "didn't go as well as we thought." McCarthy confirmed after Thursday's practice that Jennings is "not where we hoped he would be." Barring a return for Friday's practice, Jennings has the look of a no-go for Week 3 in Seattle.

Nevertheless, Jennings appears intent on playing at less than 100 percent after sitting out in Week 2. Official word should come down around 7ET this evening. If Jennings suits up, it won't be an easy night against the Seahawks' physical secondary.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy says Greg Jennings "could not open up into a full stride" after aggravating his groin injury in Sunday's win, and that he's "back (to where he was a) couple weeks ago."

Jennings was out for Week 2 after going down in Green Bay's opener, and limited in Week 3. It's bad news for a player who has suffered four different injuries going back to last December, and could sideline him for another 1-2 games. Owners shouldn't count on Jennings playing in Week 5. James Jones is likely to start opposite Jordy Nelson against the Colts.

Greg Jennings (groin) has been ruled out for Week 5 versus the Colts.

"With Jennings, we felt like we were going around in a circle," said coach Mike McCarthy. "Why wait until Sunday? Shut him down for a week, concentrate on rehab." The Green Bay Press-Gazette suspects Jennings could miss "a couple of weeks or more" after aggravating the injury. Jennings is in a contract year, so it behooves him to be at peak strength once he starts putting his play on game film again. James Jones and Randall Cobb are acceptable WR3 options versus the Colts this week.

Greg Jennings (groin) did not participate in Packers practice Wednesday.

Jennings has pledged to hold himself out until he's close to 100 percent after rushing back the first time he injured his groin, so he should be expected to miss his second straight game Sunday. Things could change quickly if he resumes practicing on Thursday or Friday, but fantasy owners need to be prepared to be without Jennings for at least one more week.

Although he's yet to completely rule himself out for Sunday's game versus the Texans, Greg Jennings (groin) is not expected to play in Week 6.

Still in shutdown mode, Jennings has not even tried running at full speed yet. "I've kept things the same, making sure I don't rush it back like I did before," said Jennings. James Jones and Randall Cobb are viable WR3 options for another week.

Packers declared WR Greg Jennings, RCB Sam Shields, NT B.J. Raji, RB Johnny White, LB Nick Perry, TE D.J. Williams and G Greg Van Roten inactive for Week 7 against the Rams.

It's a laundry list of notable players for perhaps the league's most banged-up team, but no real surprises. Solid rookie Casey Hayward will get the start in place of Shields, while Davon House (shoulder) will make his 2012 debut. Perry and D.J. Smith's absences leave huge voids in the Packers' linebacker corps. Fourth on the depth chart behind Alex Green, James Starks and John Kuhn, White isn't expected to contribute outside of special teams.

Greg Jennings won't test his injured groin until Thursday.

That, of course, means he won't practice Wednesday. Per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Packers want Jennings to wait until Thursday to test his groin ahead of a possible return to practice on Friday because "they don't want to fatigue him early in the week." Sidelined since Week 4, Jennings has said he won't return to game action until he's near 100 percent. There's no guarantee that will be this week.

Coach Mike McCarthy confirms Greg Jennings is "concerned" about how slow healing his groin injury has been.

Jennings recently sought a second opinion, and doesn't appear close to a return to practice. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on Jennings suiting up before the Packers' Week 10 bye, particularly with the Packers having little need to rush him back against the Jaguars or Cardinals. If Jennings isn't ready to play by Week 11, his season will be bordering on "lost."

Greg Jennings' Tuesday sports hernia surgery has been delayed because of Hurricane Sandy.

Apparently Jennings was going under-the-knife somewhere in the Northeast. Jennings' operation shouldn't be delayed more than a few days, but even a few days could be a factor in getting back in time for the fantasy playoffs. Jennings' best-case scenario was believed to be returning in Week 12 or 13, but prudent fantasy owners should plan to be without him until Week 14.

Greg Jennings' original plan called for him to begin running at full speed three weeks after surgery.

Jennings went under the knife on Nov. 1. He says he's already pain-free and ready, but admitted he doesn't see "eye to eye" with his doctor on a return date. With aggravation a concern and Randall Cobb/James Jones playing at a high level, the Packers will likely exercise extreme caution. A limited return in Week 13 appears reasonable.

Greg Jennings (groin) remains absent from Packers practice.

There will be no miracle return against the Lions. Although Jennings expects to return "sooner" rather than later, it's extremely doubtful he'll be ready for Week 12. Week 13 remains a best-case scenario.

Greg Jennings (groin) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

Out since Week 4, Jennings will almost certainly be on a snap count against the Vikings, but with James Jones falling off the radar of late, it shouldn't take him long to make his presence felt. Although Jennings could be in for 1-2 slow weeks from a fantasy perspective, he needs to be 100 percent owned with the playoffs nearly upon us.
