The CBS news report I just heard on the radio at 9 said that it could pick up steam while over water before it hits the mainland - but that it would not lose anything.

I never know who to believe.

My original prediction was off it appears. I predicted South of Fla into the gulf.

hurricane is weakening but still 110 sustained winds,, cental pressure is going up to 959 mb.. was at 936 mb 36 hours ago..

still very dangerous , andrew (back in 92) had winds at 177 mph.,,,,,.. more than likely hurricane will gather strength over the open water before making landfall..
