The Libby case followed the same pattern of hype and hypocrisy established during Clinton's impeachment scandal. It's as if we're all sentenced to relive the same sad scene:
  • A powerful man lies or otherwise does wrong.
  • He gets caught.
  • His enemies overreach in the name of justice.
  • His friends minimize the crime in pursuit of self-interest.
  • And the powerful man hires a lawyer.
  • Marc Rich had a high-priced attorney for his battles with the justice system. His name was Scooter Libby.

I posted this in the Clinton pardon thread (from Wikipedia):

Marc Rich, a fugitive, was pardoned of tax evasion, after clemency pleas from Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, among many other international luminaries. Denise Rich, Marc's former wife, was a close friend of the Clintons and had made substantial donations to both Clinton's library and Hillary's Senate campaign. Several months after her last donation, emails reveal Republican attorney "Scooter" Libby asked her to approach Clinton about pardoning Marc Rich. Clinton agreed to a pardon that required Marc Rich to pay a $100,000,000 fine before he could return to the United States. According to Paul Volcker's independent investigation of Iraqi Oil-for-Food kickback schemes, Marc Rich was a middleman for several suspect Iraqi oil deals involving over 4 million barrels of oil.[14]

Libby was Rich's attorney

too funny

What is even less well known is that Fitzgerald, Libby's prosecutor, was one of the prosecutors in the Rich case. I'm sure revenge was sweet for Mr. Fitzgerald. Too bad it was at the expense of the millions of taxpayers dollars and the very integrity of the judicial system of this country.

One day people will realize that BOTH parties are in this together.

While people argue and fight, they'll attend cocktail parties together.

We argue for Libby, or against Foley, or for Clinton, or for the war, or against Joe Wilson ... but they're all friends ... and they think we're all suckers.

That is why they claim that people like Ann Coulter and Michael Moore "cross the line" ... and yes, the media types like David Gregory, Tim Russert, are all in this "game" of theirs ... or would you prefer to call it scam?

I have been hoping that people would someday see this two-party scam ... the politics of elitistism ...

... but until the day that the two parties have political bitches running around playing their scam for them, it won't happen.
