Interesting post GS. I was going to lay off that game, but I think you are right about several things.

What's your take about the return of Pat White and the loss of Blackmon for AU? I'm concerned that White, who is throwing more this year, will be able to move the ball on AU. I think AU's D is good but not as good as year's past.
I knew Pat White was returning. So this didn't affect my capping this game..If Blackmon was in the game I would have made it a 3 star play instead of 2..MLB's are always very important to the defense..But the good news is Tuberville has had two weeks to prepare a new player for the positon..I think the big problem that WV is going to run into here is the Auburn defensive line..Pat White's still going to have to pass the ball to win this game imo..So far he hasn't been able to do it. WV is only averaging 100 ypg passing on offense..And only 340 total ypg. Not much more than Auburn, who plays in a much tougher defensive league. I think it's worth a small play on Auburn.

Minnesota at Purdue...I'll make this simple..This is a good technical spot for Purdue. They have the better running game (running dogs), better YPP on defense, and the better strength of schedule..Do you guys remember how well the running dogs did in the bowl games last season? This same formula was undefeated in the bowls last season. That's why I love this play. The only real difference here is this is now a pickem game. I can't give you a whole lot more reasons why I like Purdue except the fact that I think Minny has benefited from an easy schedule. And Purdue has been the victims of a difficult schedule..We're getting decent value here because of the dud of a game that Purdue threw in last week against Northwestern. A game in which Purdue had 450 yards of offense just like NW. But also had 5 turnovers. and lost 48-26..If you look at the rest of their games Purdue has been very competetive..Especially at home. Minnesota upset a 4-3 Illinois team last week. But without looking at the score, if you had told me that Minny would have got outyardaged 550 yards to 312 i would have said it would have been a 2 or 3 TD loss. But that's football..At any rate, this is one game that you can't judge a book by it's cover..The body of work (stats) tells me Purdue is the little better team playing at home..Look for a much better effort out of Purdue this week playing an already bowl eligible Minny team coming off a bye week..Taking Purdue (PK) over Minnesota ***

I've actually watched both of these teams several times even though the Big10 is not my fav conference. Purdue is just bad and has been bad all year. I just can't bring myself to bet on them. Minny has a nice QB/WR combo and plays decent defense. They did get outgained vs the Noize, but if I remember correctly, they had a couple of turnovers that gave them a short field - which would account for at least some of that differential. I got the Gophers +1 and went that way for a very small "degenerate" play. I would think this is a no play.

Good enough - I got AU +4 on Skybook for anyone looking for a little bigger line.

GS, could you see this GT play being a Dr. Bob play? It looks so good I might better jump on it before his plays come out today I'm thinking?
I don't know if Dr. Bob will jump on this game or not...But these are the teams that i believe he'll likely play or have a small lean on: Michigan, New Mexico, BC, Georgia, Army, Rutgers, Ohio State, Purdue, Tulane.

I an understand being on the other side of this play..A team on a roll against a team that's not. Like I said, this is more a technical play for me than anything else..These technical plays have been very good to me this year so far...You may very well be right..But I had to give it a shot.

I was thinking about this as well. I hope he pushes UGA. I'd love to get LSU at home as a dog. That would be my play of the weekend.

KC...I've watched this GT team play 3 times this year...And I can tell you that there is nothing I like more in a team than one who plays great funamental football in every phase of the game. And then has a tough attitute on top of that..Their defense really impresses me..They've only allowed 6 TD's scored on them all year. And they are especially tough at home..I also like their +5 turnover margin compare to Virginia's -3. Johnson is a great coach..I've probably made more money on his running dog teams at Navy more than about any other team in the last few years...BOL this weekend.:toast:

Sooner-
Next time you get to see them play-pay close attention to their line blocks and watch how the wide outs block down on the knees-
Thanks again-Hey BTW how far are you from Tulsa/Sand Springs??

The Under in the Rutgers/Pitt game also merits a look. Rutgers still has a pretty good defnese but Mike Teel and that horrible offense simply don't put many points on the board.

An added bonus is Wannstedt's weirdness at Pitt. He's liable to do just what Frank Solich did for Ohio the other night: see his team take a 10-0 lead then attempt to sit on it for the rest of the night.

I'm 90 miles from Tulsa..I've been meaning to drive up there to see a Tulsa game. With the way their playing, tickets might be a little hard to come by this year.

I'm surprised this total has actually gone up. If the game follows the same pattern as the last few Rutgers games it should go under..I keep expecting Teel to break out of his funk and have a really good game..He might have problems doing it on the road..But at least the kid is no longer making silly mistakes. Yeah, Wannstadt does have a tendency to go conservative when he gets leads..

I like Pitt, but not enough to lay it. Pitt should be able to control both lines of scrimmage in this game. I would call the skill players about even with maybe a slight edge to Pitt w/ Mr. McCoy.

Sooner- I have followed your picks for the last few weeks and thank you very much for your great analysis. Having just left UT not long ago, I have been very suprised by their play this year. Our secondary is very shaky and I personally know some of these kids. Do you think that OSU has enough air attack to keep this game close? Also, what are your thoughts on the Nevada line?

Boats...Texas defense showed me quite a bit against a good passing team Mizzou last week..They are giving up 275 ypg passing..But their only giving up 48 yards a game rushing..And many of these passing yards are yards made in junk time after the game is in hand. It will be interesting to see how Texas defense plays against a true rushing team..Something they haven't faced all year. OSU is also statistically the best defense that Texas has faced this year..They have even better defensive numbers than OU..So this will be a true test for Texas on both sides of the ball..You would think that Texas will eventually throw in a clunker..But after last week, I hate to say when or if it will happen..I honestly haven't had a chance to look at the Nevada-Hawaii game..All I can say is my numbers have Nevada favored by only a half a point...Good luck
