Posting alternate opinions can be a very good thing when done the right way. Harping on your different point of view, posting over and over as if begging the thread-starter to change their mind doesn't help anyone, though. Posters are always free to start their own threads in which to make their case in more detail.

Fellas...I just wanted to say that all of the plays that I post in here have already been played. I actually don't mind the feedback good and bad...I've got a pretty thick skin. And I've been doing this for years.. I've seen alot of people come and go in the RX..And believe me, I've heard just about everything. I just wanted you to know that there is a method to my madness...I had alot of people come in here with a rope ready to hang me for my Maryland over CAL and Syracuse picks a few weeks ago. About the most common phrase that I hear is "I've seen this team play and they suck". I can tell you that there isn't one team in the country that doesn't suck at one time or another during the season. But the most useful info that somebody can give me is something that was totally overlooked with a team or possible undisclosed key injury that I didn't read about..These are useful tidbits of info that could possibly get me off a play..Otherwise all of my picks are well thought out and I try to look at all of the angles that will play my way in a game..Sometimes they are going to work, sometimes they won't. You look like a genius when your right, and an idiot when your wrong. I've learned to live with it..What counts is what I have at the end of the year. When it comes to capping games, the road will always be rocky getting there. For every great week you have, there's going to be a bad or break even week..If you can hit 60% of your plays, or more importantly end up with the bankroll you were shooting for at the beginning of the year your doing good in this game...And although I've been asked on a couple of occasions to come to work as a tout, that's not something that I aspire to do. I'm a recreational gambler like most everybody in here..But I like to win and I hate to lose..That's why I've worked hard over the years to try and find something that gives me an advantage over certain lines. And I feel like for the most part that I've found it. But I'm always learning something new every week..Capping games is like golf. You can become decent at it, but you never can conquer it. Let's just do ourt best and try and be civil about it..We're all in here for the same thing. To learn how this crazy game of football works and to make money...Good luck.:toast:

GS, I totally agree with you. I didn't think S. Miss would cover that game at all but I respected your opinion and didn't play the game. Instead I played LSU ML because I saw a ton of value in it and I thought Florida's o line would be their downfall... Boy I look like an idiot now! LOL Better luck next week.

I assume you watched the OSU/Mizzou game. I would like to hear your take on what went wrong for Mizzou. I haven't seen one person that I think has got it right. Maybe that's because I follow this team very close and have more than 1 or 2 games to compare things too. I know you won't jump to the same conclusion that many have, that their defense just can't stop anyone, because the numbers just don't confirm that. I actually thought their defense played a pretty good game. If you would have told me before the game they were going to hold OSU to 28 points I would have said that Mizzou was going to win for sure.

If you would have told me that Mizzou was going to hold OSU to just 402 yards of total offense while gaining 454 yards of their own, I would have told you that Mizzou was probably going to win the game..Let's not forget that OSU was averaging over 520 yards of total offense coming into this game. So Mizzou did a good job holding them to 120 yards under their average with OSU owning the time of posession in the game... The difference in this game was OSU's ability to take Daniel out of his comfort zone and to make him rush some of his passes. Daniel is like every other QB in that if you make him hurry his throws, he's going to eventually make mistakes..And the 3 interceptions he threw were 3 less drives Mizzou was able to put together. Mizzou was also one of the least penalized teams in the country coming into this game..But had 68 yards in penalties. So many of things that Mizzou did in this game was uncharacteristic of how they normally play. OSU also had 187 yards rushing compared to Mizzou's 64. And as we all know, when there is this much difference in rushing stats, the running dogs have a good chance to cover or win outright. One thing that I'll bet Mizzou doesn't do this week when they go to Texas. They won't have the same gameplan on offense...And their defense will continue to play well.

Bingo!!!! That's why You're one of the few cappers I make sure to read their take on games each week. Especially in the Big 12. Daniels biggest strength, besides knowing this system inside out, is his accuracy. The better and faster defenses are against him the smaller the window is for him to get completions. For the record one of those interceptions was the receivers fault as the ball hit him right in the middle of both hands. OSU's defense played a very good game and was better than I thought they would be but I don't think that they are the sole reason for Mizzous' problems on offense. Daniels said after the game that for some reason he just wasn't in sync with his receivers all game. I saw a few things in the game that had nothing to do with the defense. Like receivers looking over the wrong shoulder for the ball. Things like that just don't happen to this offense. I also thought Mizzou abandon the run way to early. During the previous games they were almost 50/50 run to pass. Talk around Columbia is that the team realizes, now, that dropped passes and stupid penalties can cost you against the quality Big XII teams. DUH!!! I look for a VERY FOCUSED Mizzou team this week at Texas and look for a much better game from Daniels.

Texas' defense is better and faster than Oklahoma St

I don't think Mizzou needs to focus more, I think they may need to tweak a tad and adjust with some new wrinkles.

Oklahoma St gave the rest of the Big 12 the blueprint of how to slow this offense down.
