Far Niente or Jordan for California
Tignanello or Bertani Amerone for Italian

Far Niente would be considered a higher end Cali white wine.

As a red, try and Barolla or Brunello over $50 - these are Italian wines.

The Tignello is good too.

If you can afford a Premier or Grand Crus classification wine.. Have a profesional decantor it and remove the cork cause chances are any normal joe would have a very tough time removing a fragile cork and or decantoring a very good old wine. + this will really impress them at the meeting; I would go red if I were you.
