I think your plays are great. Cubs hurt yesterday. Do you find it that team trends are more consistent or general trends that encompass multiple teams to a trend, As far as ROI goes? sunshine, my thought though is if you have a sample size that say for Tampa that is 0-14 under but goes back 4 or 5 years those teams have changed to much also its not many games per year. I was thinking if you have a sample size of say 50 games but is not perfect say hits at a high, profitable percentage but encompasses many teams you will have more options. I dont know if you tried anything like that. Also if it from the current year where vegas sets line a certain way based on the teams this season. Is this a WinPicks type software. Thanks

If you wager on sports long enough, you'll have to deal with the inevitable losing streak. It doesn't matter how long you've been betting, or how good of a handicapper you are, there are going to be periods where absolutely nothing goes right.
How bettors deal with these losing streaks will go a long way in determining their eventual success, or failure, in the world of sports betting. Anyone can ride a hot streak, but those who can deal with losing streaks are more likely to be around for the long haul.

If you're broke, you can't bet. It's as simple as that.
[h=3]REALIZE THAT LOSING STREAKS WILL OCCUR[/h]The first thing sports bettors have to realize is that losing streaks are going to occur. It's not something that is happening only to them. Even those who make their living betting on sports are going to have the 2-10 weekends.
One of the most famous sports bettors around, Steve Fezzik, had a day to forget in the 2014 NCAA Basketball Tournament, going 0-10 on leans that he posted to the Internet. As expected, he took a lot of flak for that effort, but did keep upbeat. Several days later he posted on Twitter, “Some clown posted that I was 0-9 the other day. 100% wrong. I was actually 0-10.”
Keeping one's composure is essential when the losing streaks happen. A flustered gambler is more than likely a losing gambler.
[h=3]DON'T ALTER YOUR HANDICAPPING[/h]One of the initial reactions when things are going well is to start making changes in the way a person handicaps a game, which is a mistake.

If a person has a solid, proven method of handicapping, there is no need to make any adjustments. Things will turn around eventually.
Equate yourself with a professional baseball player. All hitters are going to have slumps during a season. But when a hitter starts changing their stance, altering their swing, and making major changes, that's when a minor slump becomes prolonged.

The best hitters do nothing except possibly choke up on the bat just a fraction and try and make contact, which is what successful sports bettors will do.
[h=3]CUT BACK YOUR BET SIZE[/h]If a sports bettor uses any type of money management system, their bets will inevitably be smaller when a losing streak occurs. If you're not using any type of money management system, you should be. It's the single most important factor in the eventual success, or failure, a sports gambler will have.
Even though a bettor's money management system will gradually reduce the size of their bets during a losing streak, don't hesitate to reduce the size of your bets even more when in a slump. Betting half the recommended bet size, or even less, is perfectly acceptable and can help a bettor ride out the losing streak.
[h=3]DON'T CUT BACK YOUR NUMBER OF GAMES[/h]One piece of advice many people will give sports gamblers in the middle of a cold spell is to cut back on the number of games they bet. I disagree, and would argue for cutting back the size of one's wagers instead.
When a bettor is having a period where things aren't going well and they cut back on the number of games they place a wager on, it's almost a given that they will discard their winners and bet on their losing selections.

If a person selects six games and decides to cut back the number of games they wager on andbet just three of them, it always seems that the three games they bet on will go 1-2, while the three games they discarded will go 2-1. I'm sure plenty of you know about this from experience.
[h=3]DON'T BE AFRAID TO TAKE A DAY OFF[/h]Many bettors feel as though they must be in action every single day there are games scheduled, when many times the best thing is to take a day and get away from the grind. Take your spouse out for dinner, go see a movie, or anything else to get your mind off of sports for a while. It will definitely help recharge your batteries and make things appear less stressful the following day.
Be prepared for losing streaks and realize that all sports bettors will have them. Try to wriggle off the hook with as little damage to your bankroll as possible, and you'll be in good shape once things turn around.

If you've ever read books on sports betting, you'll find that nearly every one has at least one chapter devoted to money management and that isn't because authors enjoy writing about it.

It's because it is that important.

[h=3]BETTING ON THE WRONG EVENTS[/h]It's no secret that football and basketball are the two sports that receive the majority of the betting dollars, just as it's no secret that most long-time sports bettors will say those are probably the two toughest sports to show a long-term profit in.

The sport of choice for most professional gamblers is baseball, which happens to rank well below the top two sports in the amount of money received. Hockey is another sport that many long-time bettors believe can give the sports gambler an advantage over the sportsbook, but hockey nets less than even baseball.
A sports bettor doesn't have to particularly like baseball or hockey. As long as they like money, those are two sports that should be followed, or at least find somebody who is a goodbaseball or hockey handicapper and follow their plays.
[h=3]LACK OF KNOWLEDGE[/h]Most sports bettors know just enough to make them dangerous, as there is a great deal of difference between being knowledgeable in the NFL and being knowledgeable in NFL betting. Being able to name the starting offensive line for the Dallas Cowboys isn't likely to help a person win a bet.
What many sports bettors don't realize is that they're actually competing against other bettors who spend countless hours on handicapping, studying trends, injuries, and betting angles.
If you don't have the time to study the games try to find somebody who does, whether it be on a posting forum, a reputable sports service, etc., but don't assume you know more than everyone else.

There is the old joke of a sports bettor who loses week after week, and finally, his bookie starts to feel sorry for the guy and suggests that he might want to try betting hockey.
"Hockey! I don't know anything about hockey!"
[h=3]BETTING TOO MANY TV GAMES[/h]There are a large number of sports bettors who feel if a game is televised, it's their duty to have a wager on the contest. While this didn't create much of a problem years ago, there are so many games televised now, that bettors can easily have seven or eight wagers on a single night, and even more on the weekend.
Typically, the lines are the sharpest on televised games, as the oddsmakers and sportsbooks realize that those games will be bet the heaviest.
If you have to have a wager on every televised game, those bets should be much smaller than your typical bets, somewhere around one-fourth of the amount.
I've seen a number of solid handicappers lose money over time by betting the same amount, if not more, on games that are televised than they do on games they honestly believe are good bets.
[h=3]CASINO BETTING[/h]This is a relatively new one for sports bettors to deal with, as many online sportsbooks now have casino-style gaming, which is too much for some sports bettors, including some verygood sports bettors, to walk away from. I've known of more than one solid sports bettor who will generally show a profit each week, but give that money back, plus a little extra, playing the casino games their sportsbooks offer.
There's always the legitimacy of online casinos to worry about, as well. It's one thing to be at ablackjack table and see the dealer draw a 5 to their 16 to beat your 20, but it's a bit different when it takes place online.
It's easy to see the allure. Why try to grind out a small profit betting sports, when you can hit a Royal Flush playing video poker and quickly win $1,000 or $4,000?
If this is a problem for you try e-mailing the sportsbook and ask them to block you from their casino. Believe me, they understand, and I have heard of quite a few of them that will actually do it.
There isn't any one key to becoming a winning sports bettor, but those who practice money management, put in some time, and practice discipline, are generally a step above the majority of bettors.

I've read falsehoods like this for 35 years and maybe they were more true back then. But if anyone thinks the line on Utep vs New Mexico is less sharp in 2017 then Bama vs LSU you are sadly mistaken. No event these days is likely to be easier money than any other. All the lines are sharp.
