Annika Sorenstam has withdrawn from the BMO Financial Canadian Women's Open in Vancouver after playing just six holes. The former champion was +1 after six holes before informing her playing partners, Natalie Gublis and Lorena Ocha, of the decision to withdraw due to illness. Sorenstam was tired and was fighting a cold upon her arrival in Vancouver.
