Are they really in the great position that people in the sports world really think they are?

They have 2 over 30 stars, one coming off an ACL. They have a quickly diminishing draymond green. They have andrew wiggins which only the talking heads that want everything coming up california find as an asset(He ain't with that contract and playing ability he is a negative). Lastly, they have the #2 pick in a weak draft.

I love the talking heads and fans that think Wiggins, the #2 pick, minnesota's top 3 protected pick, and draymond green(sometimes klay) are going to land them giannis, simmons or embidd. Talk about dreaming. I would rather having nobody then Wiggins albatross of a contract not to mention draymond green who is now over 30 and will age along the lines of ben wallace or joakim noah. Another negative. Who even knows what klay will be when he returns.

I actually think GS is in a terrible position unless i am way off and philly or milwaukee are going to bail them out and take one of those deals. After what the pelicans got for Davis i find that hard to believe.

You are right as their roster is locked with a bunch of terrible contracts...don't forget Russell who is a good player with a huge contract. Green has a bunch of other interests besides basketball. Some team will take a package of these "used to be great" players, but I don't think many teams in the west are afraid of the new-look Warriors. Those fans got screwed as they helped pay for a new arena a few years too late.

They traded russell for wiggins.

Wiggins got paid for his potential (not his production) now he is just coasting and enjoying that big payday

I think their window is a finger or two from being closed, the draft pick might just keep it open for one more season with the BIG if, their pick is an immediate big impact player

They're in a better position than they were in 14 months ago, 2 minutes after the finals ended. Worked out that Curry got hurt this year so they could get the pick as they were going to be bad either way w/ no Klay and a depleted roster.

I'd have to see what their team looks like before training camp but I'd assume they will deal the pick. Some vets will wanna play there on the cheap w/ those guys (although w/ the rona hard to say what offseason looks like)

Another thing I'd give in their favor is they are resting right now while these other elite teams are grinding to win the title. They could really hit the ground running next year.
