Taking the wife for our 5 year Anniversary. Will be out there 5 nights during week 3 of the nfl. Anything to recommend or avoid. Going to look at shows/concerts as it gets closer. She is not mucj of a gambler, but will hangout with me at sportsbooks etc. Other than that, being by the pool alot is on the books.

Food?, activities etc..... she mentioned the wax museum

Have fun

Go to a good show or two

Cirque Du Soleil are usually great (although their water show bored me)

You don't have to spend top dollar, do a little research on the shows playing

If you like the Beatles LOVE is a great show

A buddy of mine of mine took me to see Carrot Top on my bday one year, I wasn't that excited about it...turned out to be one of the funniest shows I've ever seen, he's still at Luxor I think, tickets were cheap too, well worth it

If you have a rental take a drive out to Red Rock Canyon, I love that place at sunset when Vegas starts to light up

i use to go all the time in my early 20s. Then i started working in the casino industry and lost interest in it as a vacation spot. my wife has never been, we want to move west when we look at retirement states. Im 37 and she just turned 30 so we have some time. Both our sets of parents are older and live close to us as of now.

A couple things:
1) walk across the street to the Bellagio and tour the free gardens near the front lobby
2) KOI restaurant at PH is very good
3) PH Sportsbook is not great. Might try Cosmo, Bellagio, Aria, but get there early Sat/Sun
4) Many good places to eat at Cosmo. Check their website for happy hour deals at each as you can schedule a progressive HH at 2-3
5) I wouldn't rent a car unless you have specific destinations you want to go to off strip. PH is in a good location. Cabs are back in fashion from the airport as they have zone pricing and UBER/Lyft wait times are still high with dynamic pricing often in place. You can also jump on the double decker bus and take a ride up and down the strip for site-seeing. If you are Diamond level at CET, valet is free if you do get a car.
6) A lot of buffets are still closed if that is part of your plan
7) Nice large, ornate bar in the center of the PH casino floor. Decent drinks and good people watching.
8) Look up the PH shopping mall website to see if there are stores/restaurants of interest there. Check out Ocean One for a very good discounted lunch deal.

If you have specific questions I would be glad to try to answer. Have a great time.

I loved Mystere

Lots of good tribute shows too which are usually cheaper. Stuff honoring the Rat Pack or Elvis or Johnny Cash or Motown

Just a warning, fine dining on the strip has become very expensive. Maybe more knowledgeable posters can give some advice in the area (and I'll be paying attention too :))
