In games where a team is looking ahead to playing a tough team the next week (Minn. to Pa. State) I like to take the 1st half line for the favorite. I figure they will want to run up the score so they can rest in the 2nd half. Then you may want to look at fading the favorite in the 2nd half. Too many times the book will make a line for the whole game and then take that line and divide by 2 for the 1st half. These games are really 2 separate halfs.

It worked for me this weekend in the Tulane game and the UConn. game and came within 1 1/2 points for the Kentucky game. I see that's the way it went in the Texas game also.

Something to look at anyway.

No problem SG.

I'm going to be looking at the line for the 1st half for Michigan, following their defeat at Oregano last week. The Blue play Indiana on Saturday so they will be looking for someone to beat up on.

The following week they will be looking toward Iowa so that may provide for a fade opportunity in the 2nd half. It all depends upon the line though.

Nice point on the 2 halves bet. Never really thought about it much, but it makes perfect sense. Just like Arkansas/NTexas this past weekend. Halftime score was 31-7 Arkansas. Final score was 31-7 Arkansas.

Dan:

I thought the same thing! I had N. Tex. for the game. When I saw the 1st half score I put some down on N. Tex. +7 @ -113 for the 2nd half. I didn't think to go with the UNDER (Ark. is playing Alabama away this weekend). Now that I notice, I think they might have been looking ahead with a big lead and let up a bit.

nice point games. can even give an example from the sooners the other week against fresno st. 38-0 at the half, 52-28 final. i think the teams flex their muscles in the first half and break the other team down. hard to get up for the 2nd half when your killing a team. nice point.
