Don't know when this ride is going to stop, but I am enjoying it while it is going on. Another strong week, 5-1 including my two biggest plays. Brings the season totals to the following:
3*- 6-3-1, +8.1
2*- 7-4, +5.2
1*- 6-3, +2.7
Overall- 19-10-1, +16.0 Units. Let's keep it going (help counteract a rough week in the NFL).
Be back with week 6 later this week

Varkey- It's nice when you combine them right, isn't it? Pars and reverses are a wonderful way to recoup a tough day- but when it's rolling bad, 1 out of 2 on all of them. Enjoy the ride and keep it rollin.

Looking for continued success in week 6. Lighter board due to some weather cancellations and other weather to be aware of, but plenty of action left to take a shot with. Here we go:

3*- Penn St +1 1/2 over MD- I am a noted Penn St hater, but I think if they can't beat MD on their home field, Franklin better sharpen up his resume (I think he should do that anyway as I think he is an awful coach, but that is bigger picture) PSU scores more than people think, so let's say 34-30, Nits
3*- Texas Team Total over 31- I think they SAIL over this. Lot's of juice in a rivalry game, and I expect a close one- Oklahoma has lots of anger built up over last year, but Texas can score now- and so can the sooners. Let's say 45-42 Sooners in a very entertaining (and profitable) tilt.
2*- Tennessee +6 1/2 * Tex AM- Tenny has been luck twice already, but they are talented and if they play the way they can (sometimes easier on the road) they are the better team. I expect that defense to finally rise up and prove that AM is overrated. I'll be playing the money line as well. 31-27, Vols
2*- San Jose St -2 1/2 over Hawaii- I alwayws bet against Hawaii off the island on general principal- and a 4:30 PM game? Even SJ St can take this by a TD. 30-23
1*- Temple +10 1/2 over Memphis- don't love playing Thursday night games, and as a proud Temple alum (gamblers, beware my bias and do with this knowledge what you will) I often times have a blind spot. But I thin kthey can win, so I'll certainly take 10 pts. 35-34, Owls.
1*- Ga Tech +6 over Pitt- playing a hunch, the option keeps the score down and Thomas is a dual threat problem for Pitt. 23-21, Ga Tech.

Good luck with all your action, boys. And anyone on the Southeast coast, stay safe

Nice start GMan, keep up the good work. Curious, who do you play with? I ask only because there's still a lot of +7 out there for Tenn and GTech.

My number is based off of a local, but I generally wait until game day for games that have the ability to move up in my benefit. Just don't want to take an extra 1/2 point to pad my record if it isn't warranted. I also use bookmaker to shop lines against.

Week 6 was successful (even more so if you got the push on the Tennessee game, as the number went off at 7), but either way I'll take it. After a 4-2 week, YTD looks like this:

3*- 8-3-1, +14.1
2*- 7-6, +0.8
1*- 8-3, +4.7

Overall that puts us at 23-12-1, and plus 19.6 units. Let's keep the positives rolling, back with week 7 before the weekend.

That's the plan, Vark. I like the college card much more than the NFL this week, for what that's worth. Let 's see what week 7 holds:

3*- Ohio St team total over 27- I think this can be a good game, but I also think that Ohio St is going to score much more than Michigan did. I see them in the 30's, call it 34-23 Buckeyes
3*- Air Force -14 over New Mexico- I think Air Force is a very good, well balanced team. I think New Mexico is not. Add in the Falcons coming off of a difficult loss, and this one looks like a 37-10 type blowout
2*- Arkansas over Ole Miss- I know that Bama beat up Arkansas. I also know they are a legit team, and then will be ready for this game. Don't know if they can win (though if Chad KElly decides to play gunslinger and throws 3 picks, they may) but I expect them to keep it close. Let's say 37-34, Rebels
2*- We. Ky over 35 Team Total- on general principle I usually play the Hilltoppers if their total is less than 40. Also, Mid Tenn plays up tempo, which may put this total near 100. 45-44 Hilltoppers.
1*- Houston -21 over Tulsa- Bounce back or fold for Houston. I have full faith in their coach that it is a BIG bounce back. I also don't believe in Tulsa like some others. I think this is a 51-17 beatdown
1*- Miami/No Car over 64- both teams can score and I don't believe in the Miami defense. Just expect a shootout- sometimes it doesn't need to be more complex than that. 45-41 Canes.

Lots of prosperity to all in week 7, boys.

Split the picks down the middle, but managed to hit the bigger ones for a smaller winning week (though I was REALLY wrong on the games I missed, I'd rather do that than package them up in a parlay and take a net loss because of it. There is a lesson to be learned somewhere in there, whenever I am smart enough to take it). Any week in the positive we'll take, right?
Here is where we stand after 7 weeks:
3*- 9-4-1, +13.8
2*-9-6, +4.8
1*- 8-5, +2.5
Overall- 26-15-1, +21.1 units. I'll take that at this point, still a long way to go.
Be back with week 8 later this week

On to week 8- if anyone is out there, feel free to let me know your thoughts. Feel like I'm talking to myself minus the weekly virtual fist bump from Indy. Hope the good luck continues

3*- Ohio St -19 1/2 @ Penn St- this would have been comical years ago, but even home field won't bridge the talent gap between these two teams. The more PSU tries to up tempo, the worse the score will be- look for a second half runaway. 48-13, Buckeyes
3*- Air Force -16 1/2 over Hawaii- Air Force coming off a brutal loss will bounce back in a big way over an overmatched Hawaii squad away from the island. Air Force is pretty classy, but this score can be almost as bad as they want. Let's say it stops at 48-14, Falcons
2*- We. Kentucky Team Total over 39- General rule- We Kentucky team total under 40, I play it. Against a bad defensive team, I think they get into the 50's
2*- Cincinnati -1 1/2 over E Carolina- conference game between two teams that have disappointed this year. Cincy at home starts a second half surge with a comfortable win- 34-24, Bearcats
1*- Texas Tech team Total over 36- easier play might be Oklahoma, but I think at home Tex Tech might rise up and stay close. To do so, they will have to score. Alot. I think they will- 51-44, Sooners
1*- Appalachian St Team Total over 37- I know, I never play an under (and I am well aware of it, and OK with it). Remain firm in my thinking that this is a good team, and will run it up onan overmatched Idaho squad. They might break 50 by themselves

Wish everyone the best of luck with their own plays.

Well, a rough week (and even worse for me personally, as I got my ass kicked around in college before bouncing back on Sunday) but not the huge sinkhole it could have been based on how wrong I was on my favorite games. After a 2-3-1 week, here's where we stand:

3*- 9-6-1, +7.2
2*- 11-6, +8.8
1*- 9-5-1, +3.5
Overall 29-17-2, +19.5. Not too bad, but we need a bounce back in week 9.

Let's put last week out of our mind, boys. Would like to get on a little run to really pad our record- and hopefully people are out there making money so far. Week 9 (is it really that far into the season already?)beckons, so let's see what we can do:

3*- Ole Miss -4 1/2 over Auburn- by far my favorite play of the week, also like it on the money line. Auburn is coming off a big win at home, but Ole Miss was in the top 25 for a LONG time, is a different team at home, and at night that stadium will be crazy. I don't think Auburn will be able to stop the Rebels as they get on a roll. Call it 31-24 Ole Miss
3*- Houston -9 1/2 over C. Fla- Ugly, ugly loss last week for the Cougars- but I love their coach and think he is ready to take it out on someone. Ditto his players, who I'm sure didn't have a pleasant week. C. Fla got exposed a bit by my Temple Owls (proud alumni), and Houston is much better than them if they can shake that loss. My guess is they do in a BIG way- 47-23 Cougars
2*- Houston Team Total over 34- well, based on my take for the game I think they soar past their team total. See above for my brilliant detailed analysis
2*- Miami/Notre Dame over 58 1/2- Miami is reeling, and Notre Dame is a paper tiger. They wil both be able to move the ball and score against the suspect D of the other- plus both coaches are feeling the warmth of the seat so they will play balls out. I expect both teams to be in the 30's, lets call in 37-35 Miami (mostly because I dislike ND greatly)
1*- Indiana -5 over Maryland- Indiana is desperate for a win, and at home they are much better. Maryland is coming off a surprising beatdown, but that Hoosier defense will big up. 27-17 Hoosiers
1*- Cincinnati +7 1/2 over Temple- PLEASE NOTE- I tell you guys all the time that I eat my own dog food, and play the games that I post. I want to be very clear that I will NOT be playing this one. As I mentioned before I am a proud Temple Alumni, and this is a big game for us- so I won't root against my team. That said, I think Cincy could win the game outright, and 7 1/2 is WAY too many points. If you all play it, I hope it means a backdoor cover by Cincy as the Owls win by a TD after a garbage score. My head tells me 34-31, Owls.

That does it for week 9, boys. Good luck to all with your wagers and let's take some $$$ from the man.
