A good example is I-AA football or women's college hoops. I've made six figures many years betting it. People used to make fun of me but I don't care where my money comes from, as long as I get paid.

If your opinions are good but you suck at managing risk, bet $10 until you learn to become a grinder. One of the sharper guys I know goes bust every year because he absolutely cannot manage his bankroll. I've told him many times to take one year and just bet $10 a game and learn how to control his emotions, but he will never do it. He just has to make money now, and his goals are way higher than his bankroll will allow. Unfortunately, this is very common.

My personal rules list (sorry not one thing). Betting is a hobby for me but I win more than I lose.

- Get all your bets ready to be made, then cut it down to your top 1, 2 or 3.
- Never chase...EVER.
- If you bet baseball, bet 1st 5 only.
- Dont have a large variance in wagering. If you bet $50 on a normal game, dont be a idiot on a game you "love". Maybe twice your normal amount AT THE MOST.
- Statistical data older than 5 years doesnt mean shit. The way sports are played and personnel change to fast and too often for that data to be relevant.
- Weather matters.
